The Young And The Restless's Melody Thomas Scott Off The Air For...

    Monday, June 20 2011

    Melody Thomas Scott (CBS)
    No scripts.

    Updated June 20:

According to EW, Maria Bell told the press backstage at the 38th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, "Melody is phenomenal. Of course she will be [with the show] again. She’s in a storyline where she left town but she will be back. We love Melody. She’s one of the hearts and souls of "The Young and the Restless." Don’t be worried. She will be back."

    Original article June 2:

Actress Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman, "The Young and the Restless") tweeted earlier this week, "Actually, I don’t know if or when I’ll be shooting again. This week’s air shows were my last, until someone determines otherwise." This caused speculation to begin about why her character might not be seen on screen for a time. Of course, Nikki has returned to rehab, and Melody assured via Twitter, "There are no negotiation problems that I know of. Just no scripts for the last month. Believe me, I’d love to be working every day!" will continue to update readers as to Melody's status as information becomes available. Are you disappointed that Nikki won't be on the canvas for a month or more? Let us know by voting below.

Looks like the voters have cast their opinions!
Nikki must stay till Y&R ends.

Sorry to say Nikki's fans but I need a break from her..she keeps going back and forth for that lying no heart..but great acting as Nikki though..

This show has gone up and down since MAB and the goonies took over as so call writers. I am surprised Y&R has not been cancelled with this poor pityfull writing. Hopefully TPTB will have the good sense to bring Melody (Nikki) back soon...

If MTS if forced to leave this show for whatever reason--especially since they are bringing on all this new "talent" they are making a big mistake.
Get back to basics Y & R. Let go of all these crap storylines with characters that are stupid.

I think the writers should go into rehab. I've not seen such pathetic writing and as far as cane his character
should have remained dead. This twin "thing" is so
confusing. Please! is cane alive or not? Yet he's involved
in another scheme. This time it's worst. He's up to his
neck in this "crazy" scheme with this demented family.
What the heck is going on?

I don't like the way the writers are taking Nikki down the wrong road all the time. Her family needs her so she should come back to the Nikki that needs Victor in her life. They were good together once, they can be again but not if they keep putting Nikki on rock bottom.

I can't imagine Y&R without Nikki. Letting her go would be a huge mistake. I'm not sure how you would let Nikki go, but let the characters of Adam still carry on with the same storyline of just trying to upstage Victor...this is really getting old. The older characters make the show and if they are out then so will Y&R...just give it time.

If Nikki goes then so do I.

Very big mistake if they let her go... I think they underestimate her fan base. Especially, when they are bringing back and keeping characters the fans really dislike (Daisy for one)....Nikki is a keeper.

    I'm a baby boomer, I don't write comments, but I am today because I can't remember not watching Y&R. Y&R won’t b #1 w/out Nikki & Victor.
She is part of the foundation that supports your entire show. How could u writers b so stupid? We r living longer or haven’t u done your research? I’m offended that you have decided to cater to more of a “younger" audience. Your “younger” audience will grow up & then what” Bye Bye? My family has grown up with Y&R, my office is out raged, my friends say they will stop watching it . You built this show around this beautiful woman who is real, has flaws and has kept the Newmans a real family with heart. She is in all of our hearts. You just killed all of that. I have always respected Y&R because I could see u valued matriarchs like Jeanne Cooper and Jess Walton. I love how u portrayed Ms. Chanceller as a woman with wisdom and flaws and even the “young” respected her. That was rare. R they next?? How sad all of that talent u writers worked so hard to create, gone. It sincerely saddens me that u have done this. Oh well, “All My Children” is being replaced by a cooking show I heard. Y&R won’t b far behind. I hope you like what you have stirred up, because it will eventually go down the drain. Enjoy….
P.S. I'm only one viewer, but I am now one less without Nikki.
