    At Crimson Lights, Dylan tells Avery that Nikki should help them distribute flyers and figure out who is influencing the mayor. Dylan says they'll stop by the ranch and then spend the day watching football. Avery doesn't look thrilled. Dylan produces a sled - he won't sit on the couch all day. They kiss.

    At the ranch, Reed tells Victor and Nikki how cool Ben is...he was still at the house this morning. Victor's phone rings. Nikki says the mayor is calling. Victor talks and tells Nikki it seems they have a common interest. He reads Treasure Island to Reed, who causes laughter by saying Billy called Victor an old pirate once. Avery and Dylan arrive. They give Nikki the rally flyers. She will make time to distribute them to her contacts. Nikki decides they'll all sled on the hill behind the barn. Alone, Dylan suggests to Victor they have fun for the ladies' sake. Victor doesn't want his advice on relating to his wife. After sledding, Dylan and Avery tell Nikki someone with pull had their application for landmark status denied. Nikki puzzles over who could convince the entire committee to vote against it. Avery and Dylan leave and kiss outside. Inside, Nikki looks at the tequila and resolves to take it one day at a time.

    At Crimson Lights, Anita is agonizing over which cupcake to take her grandson. Adam suggests the one with the dinosaur. Anita assumes he's flirting. She mentions her daughter going to the Club. On the patio, Dylan and Avery talk about schmoozing at the party. She warns Joe Clark will be working it there. Dylan isn't keen to compete, but they go.

    At the Club, Ben overhears Ash say into her phone, "Ready and waiting for you, handsome." She reminds him not to feel awkward. Nearby, Joe tells Cane they'll remove everyone's doubt tonight. They discuss Lily's opposition and Avery. Joe says when charm doesn't work you try something new. He joins Ashley, who introduces him to Stitch. They are arm-in-arm when Dylan and Avery arrive. Ashley congratulates them on their engagement. Avery wonders if Joe has recruited Ash for his development. Dylan nixes the business talk. Joe gets a moment with Avery and thinks she's jealous. They have a tense exchange and Avery rejoins Dylan. Ashley asks Joe why he didn't tell her about Avery. He says tonight is about the future. In the office, Kelly tells Lily she won't let anything or anybody ruin the party. Lily finds Cane downstairs and they flirt until Jack arrives. Lily has a bad feeling. By the stairs, Adam complains to Sage on the phone. Jack approaches and Adam mentions working together. Kelly appears. Adam introduces himself as Gabriel and walks off. Kelly notes Jack's discomfort and assures him she won't throw champagne in Phyllis' face. Ash and Joe approach. Kelly excuses herself. Ash introduces Jack to Joe, who is thrilled to meet such a forward-thinking businessman. Avery watches and frets to Dylan about Joe. They decide to leave. Jack approaches Cane and Lily - he's looking for his friend, Gabriel. Lily asks, "Like the angel?" Jack replies, "Not exactly." Meanwhile, Joe complains to Ash that Jack didn't hear his pitch. Ash reminds him he told her in New York that he wanted his ex back.

    At Crimson Lights, Nick, Dylan and Avery talk about the press calling the lights staying on there a 'Christmas miracle'. Dylan plans to run with it - he had t-shirts made up first thing with the 'lights are always on' slogan. Avery tells Nick there won't be a custody hearing - the judge has ordered mediation. Dylan reminds him he and Sharon worked well together over the holidays. Nick still wants full custody. Later, Michael stops in and gives Dylan a pep talk. He and Avery are pleased he dropped Joe as a client. Michael doesn't need that karma right now. Avery asks, "What's going on?" Michael talks about making the most of what you have - it could all be gone in an instant. He learns they're engaged and congratulates them. Avery leaves - she'll meet Dylan later. Dylan asks Michael if he could cover the workload if he took Avery on an extended vacation. Michael says it's no problem and urges him not to wait.

    Avery and Dylan remember the people they fed last year at Crimson Lights. Dylan says this year it will just be them. Avery thinks he wanted to have dinner there in case it's gone next year. Dylan pours champagne and they dance. Avery wants to plan to celebrate there next December 25. Dylan talks about what it means to him. As they kiss, Paul arrives to wish them a Merry Christmas. Chris is at home feeling queasy. Summer and Austin arrive. The lights have gone out everywhere except Crimson Lights. Paul makes a call. "Oh really, that bad?" He tells them an ice storm up north knocked out power. Nikki and Nick appear. Dylan gets coffee. Austin gives Summer tickets for a sold-out concert. She gives him a scarf she knit herself. They kiss. Nick pulls tables together, Paul reports Chris is fine, and Dylan and Avery kiss. Victor arrives with Chelsea and the kids - they saw the lights. Avery hopes people will always be able to come to Crimson Lights. Victor says change is inevitable. Ben, Billy, and Victoria enter with Johnny and Katie. Nick tells Faith that Uncle Dylan must have a back-up generator. Victor pulls Nikki aside to give her a strawberry. She flashes to telling him she loves strawberries in the middle of the night when they were first together. He says, "You're still my fantasy." Nikki replies, "You're not so bad yourself." Jack and Phyllis arrive. Victor and Jack exchange a look. Phyllis addresses Austin by name, prompting Summer to admire her Christmas spirit. Paul says the power will be back on soon. Nick makes a toast to Dylan and his emergency generator. Dylan says he has no generator. No one can explain the lights being on. Faith looks at an angel in a snowglobe.

    At Crimson Lights, Dylan tells Avery he recognizes Faith's bike. Avery is about to call Nick when Dylan finds Faith hiding. She tells him she ran away from her dad.

    At Crimson Lights, Faith talks to Dylan about the situation with her parents. Sharon and Nick arrive. Nick thanks Dylan. Later, Dylan tells Avery if their baby had lived they would have been great parents and their kid would have been amazing. Avery gets a text - the warehouse district can't get historic landmark status. Dylan feels someone with a lot of power is getting to those who can help them.

Paul offers to call the mayor to help out. Dylan agrees to let him. After, Avery and Dylan enthuse about becoming husband and wife. Dylan gets a call that the mayor will see them.
