    Avery approaches Dylan carefully at Crimson Lights. He snaps at her about representing Nick and going to Joe's room. She wonders if he'll let Joe come between them. He says she did that when she went there knowing Joe wanted to get her into bed. Avery doesn't want to argue, but Dylan won't let it go. He wants to know what happened at Joe's room. Avery isn't forthcoming. He notes she's due in court. She tells him not to let Joe come between them. Later, Stitch comes in with his good news but doesn't get a reaction from Dylan, who mentions he stayed at the loft last night. Stitch asks why he didn't stay at Avery's. Dylan says her bed is a little too crowded. Stitch reassures him of Avery's love.

    Sage finds Nick at the courthouse and offers to testify on his behalf. Faith appears with Sharon. Faith wants to know what Sage is doing there. She tells Nick she waved her wand to put a happiness spell on all of them. A social worker takes Faith to chat. Nick tells Sage to go. Sharon tells Nick he can stop this with two words - joint custody. They are debating when David Sherman interrupts. Avery follows. Mariah comes in and she and Sharon watch Summer enter. Mariah rolls her eyes about Princess Whinypants. Sharon says she'll need Mariah's help today more than ever. Proceedings begin. Nick and Sharon each take the stand to make their cases. Sharon just wants what's best for Faith. On the stand she asks, "Oh God Nick can we stop? Can we just stop!" Summer and Noah take the stand and discuss Sharon switching the DNA test and her bi-polar disorder. Faith takes the stand and says hi to her mommy. She asks the judge if he can make them all live together again. Avery asks Faith if Nick would ever hurt her. She says no. David then asks about Sage. Faith tells the judge she didn't have any pants and refuses to discuss it further. Faith exits and Mariah is called. She testifies Sharon is a great mother. Avery asks if Faith told her the real story about the woman with no pants and reminds her she's under oath. In the corridor, Dylan arrives and finds Summer on her way to meet Austin. He enters as Avery insists Mariah tell the truth. Mariah says Sage had spilled water on her pants. Avery notes Nick was just being helpful. Sharon stands up and pleads with Nick not to let them take Faith from her.

    At the Abbott house, Avery tries to reassure Jack that committing Phyllis was the only option. He rants that she deserves more as Summer arrives. They break the news that her mother's at Fairview. Avery says it was that or a jail cell. Summer melts down and tells Jack that her mom will never forgive him. She accuses him of having given up on her once and now he's doing it again. She won't give up on her. After, Jack feels guilty and Avery tries to talk him around unsuccessfully. "This is my fault!"

    Avery greets Dylan at Crimson Lights - she heard about Victor backing off the sale. She wants to celebrate. Dylan confronts her about being in Joe's room and wonders if she made Joe a better offer. Avery slaps him. She is furious that he even could think such a thing. Dylan doesn't understand why she keeps going back and not telling him. They argue about Joe. Her phone rings - it's Joe apologizing for letting it slip she was in his room. Avery looks at Dylan and leaves. On the patio, Summer has a meltdown about her mom and the custody case. Austin assures her that will never be them.

    In an interrogation room, Michael assures Phyllis that he and Avery will provide her with a strong defense. Phyllis wants to know what about Jack? Michael says he's helping. She complains that he lead her to the cops. By Paul's office, Avery listens as Jack argues with Paul and Christine that there were mitigating circumstances. Avery says her sister is mentally incompetent. Chris will prosecute her to the full extent of the law. Jack and Avery join Phyllis, who is complaining to Michael about Summer being kept away. They break the news that she's going to Fairview. Avery says it's the only way to avoid a criminal trial. Michael warns Christine would do everything she can to put her away. Phyllis accuses Jack of doing this to punish her for ruining the life he had without her. They argue. Jack insists he's fighting for her. Avery says it's time to go. In Paul's office, he defends the assessment to Christine, who is determined to make sure Phyllis doesn't skate. As Phyllis is taken out, Chris says she looks forward to reading her evaluation. Jack glares at Chris and Paul. Michael has words with Christine, who is upset he's protecting Phyllis. Paul advises Chris not to get so worked up. She doubles over in pain but then is okay. She promises not to sacrifice their baby.

    At Fairview, Jack and Avery try to make Phyllis accept it's better than a jail cell. Phyllis starts to freak out but they have to leave her there.

    At Crimson Lights, Avery regrets she can't join Dylan at the christening - she has a meeting. Dylan leaves. Avery calls Joe. She says she considered his proposal and can come to his suite right now.

    Avery finds Michael and Kevin at the station. Michael leaves. Avery asks Kevin to outfit her with a body wire to get her ex-husband's confession on tape - she doesn't want Paul or Dylan to know.

    At the Club, Joe prepares his suite. He looks at the bed and smiles. Avery arrives and describes how he said this would stop the attacks on Dylan. She wants to get on with it. He insists this isn't about sex. He reminisces about them making love and produces a necklace she admired on their honeymoon. As Kevin listens, Joe puts the necklace on her and suggests she open a button or two. Avery decides she needs to go. Joe just wanted them to be who they once were and asks when she last laughed. Avery says this accomplished nothing and exits. Joe muses, "That's where you're wrong."

    At Crimson Lights, Kevin gives Avery the recording and warns her not to go alone again. She flashes to Joe asking when was the last time she laughed. Dylan arrives and asks about her meeting. She says she'll have to interview the person again.
