Building Walls.

At the Chancellor Estate, Jill and Nina discuss Ronan leaving. Jill says she's learned you can't push sons - they have to come to you. Just then, Ronan arrives. Nina tells him it's hard not knowing where your child is at. She gets teary, and Paul arrives. Ronan says he has to go. Nina walks him out and they embrace and cry. Nina rejoins Paul, who talks about Patty. Paul gets a message that Ricky published his article. The doorbell rings - Nina receives a package from Ronan. It's a new copy of the book she wrote about him with a note inside saying he could never find the right words to tell her how grateful he is for finding him. It's signed, "I love you, Mom."

At the station, Ronan dismantles the suspect board, and looks at his old copy of Nina's book in his box, before leaving.

Bad Timing.

Chloe visits Ronan at the station - she brought a gift from Delia. He tells her he's moving on. She asks why he's leaving town. He shrugs that his assignment's over. They talk about how bad their timing always is - she says he was so sweet when Delia was in the hospital. Ronan wishes he could have done more. They discuss Nina not knowing he's leaving. Chloe thinks he should stop punishing her. Ronan feels he can't live up to her expectations. Chloe thinks he could. She tells him to take care of himself, they hug, and she goes.

Nina arrives in Ronan's office and makes small talk about the case. She tells him she hopes his next case isn't so intense. Ronan realizes Chloe told her he's leaving. Nina tells him if he ever regrets walking away, she's here. Ronan finds Walsh and tells him not to punish Nikki for something that wasn't her fault.

The Best Idea.

At the station, Genevieve tells Ronan she wants to see Patty. Paul appears and says it's not possible - she's too fragile to handle confrontation. Gen is irritated. Ronan tells her to go. Later, Walsh appears and says he told Genevieve she could visit Patty. Paul is upset and takes off. Ronan tells Walsh they have to dismiss the charges against everyone else. Walsh refuses. Ronan says it's time to move on.

Nikki arrives at the station. Ronan informs her the charges against her still stand.

Get Out.

Up in the church storage area, Patty threatens to jump from the window, but Paul tells her it's okay and asks the others to leave. She tells him that liar man said he was his son. Paul sings their song. Father Todd joins in and enters the room. Patty laughs. Once she's calm, Ronan and Ricky re-enter. Paul says she has to come with them because she hurt some people. Ronan notices the needlepoint kitty in her purse.

Todd and Paul bring Patty into the station. Ricky follows and Ronan calls off the press and then shows Patty the pillows. She says she worked very hard on those - one for everyone at the park! Ronan tells Paul that Deacon told the truth. Ricky joins the conversation. Ronan remarks on him saying he heard everything on the police scanner. Emily appears and Patty sizes her up. Ronan takes Patty to be photographed. Todd goes with Emily, and Paul asks Ricky why he lied - nothing went out over the police scanner. Ricky doesn't think it matters. Paul walks away and rejoins Patty and Todd.

Karma.

At Father Todd's church, Paul tells his brother and Ronan he hopes they find Patty first - there's no telling how she'll react if the wrong person gets to her. Ronan learns that the car Patty stole was abandoned nearby. They head out.

In the church storage area, Ricky realizes that Patty thinks Paul is a teenager. She tells him today was her wedding day - she's Mrs. Jack Abbott. Ricky congratulates her, but upsets her by noting that she went to a lot of trouble to be with Jack. She hisses that it was love at first sight. Ricky asks, "Shouldn't you be together now?" Patty gets mad and says he's not a nice boy. Ricky apologizes and tells her he gets confused about people's stories sometimes. Patty says that happens to her too. She's flattered when he says she reminds him of his mother. She talks about her savior showing her the way out of a building through the vents and making her a nun. Ricky probes about this saint. Patty says he helped her when no one else would, but he's bad sometimes. Ricky promises not to tell anyone who the man is, and she says, "Adam Newman. He's the one who helped me escape from the institution." Suddenly Paul appears. Ricky yells, "I just found her!" Patty glares.
