Chance and Chloe arrive at the ball where they greet Kay and Murphy. Katherine gets a call from Mac saying she's not coming. Nikki comes downstairs and runs into Jack who expresses concern about Emily. Vikki passes, telling Nikki she's going home to Reed. At the door she runs into Billy who has changed his mask and costume to fool Victor. They go to dance. Adam listens. Paul comes up to Michael at the bar and says that the woman who bailed out the twins was in a car accident with Terrible Tom - they're somehow connected!
Sharon comes out of the washroom and startles when she sees a costumed man with his back to her holding Faith. She assumes it's Nick, but when he turns around and lifts his mask she nearly faints with shock - it's Adam!
Deep Pockets!
Nikki saunters into Adam's hospital room saying she's come to give him one last chance at redemption. She brings up Hope and urges him to come clean. Nikki tells him only he can give Ashley the closure she needs. Adam sneers at her concern for Ashley and taunts about her past as a stripper. Nikki shouts that he's disgusting! The security guard asks her to leave. Patty comes in, and once they're alone, Adam asks if she brought the stuff - a cape, mask, disposable cellphone, and sedatives. Patty is reluctant to trust him, but Adam undoes his handcuffs and tells her they have to act fast! Patty lays on the floor, causing the guard to rush over. Adam jumps him and injects him with a sedative. They handcuff the guard and drag him into the washroom!
Mr. Kitty Says...
In his hospital room, Adam convinces the nurse to go get him a stuffed cat from the gift shop. Just then, Jill comes in and hisses that he used her - and she promises he's going to regret it! They trade barbs and Adam smirks as she tells him he'll be going to prison for a long time. She exits and runs into Nick - they compare notes on Adam, then Nick goes in and taunts him about going to jail. He adds that he and Sharon have Faith back and everything he did amounts to a big zero. Adam shoves Nick and says Sharon isn't out of his life. Nick threatens to kill him if he gets within a mile of her!
Patty arrives in Adam's room and starts talking about seeing Sharon and the baby, and how cruel he was to keep them apart. He mentions the potting shed. She asks if he's trying to convince her he's insane. Suddenly, a 'meow' is heard - Patty's demeanor changes. He says the cat told him Patty and Emily switched places! She grabs the sheet and exposes the cat, asking why he's tormenting her! Adam grins, saying, "Hi Patty!" Adam smugly tells her how he figured it out and threatens to convince someone to do a DNA test on the girl in the nuthouse. She asks what he wants. Adam says he wants her to help him escape - tomorrow night at the Policemans's Ball!
Meow!
In the hospital, Adam thinks about Patty and her stuffed kitty at the Ranch. Ashley and Traci come in. Ash asks him to please tell her what happened to her baby. She says she knows what he did to Sharon was in part because he cared about her and knew how much she wanted that baby. Ash begs him to tell her out of respect for her child, but Adam merely says he doesn't know. Ashley screams and starts choking him! Security arrives, and they are taken from the room. Vikki walks in and tells Adam if she loses Reed over the cabin, he'd better pray he gets put where she can't reach him!
As Vikki is leaving Adam's room, Victor comes in with Heather. They say Dr. Peterson's evaluation was accepted - he's fit to stand trial. Adam says it will never happen! Heather informs him that he will be transported back to lock up on Friday - she wishes there was a death penalty for the things he has done to people! She leaves, and Adam turns to Victor. They get into it over why Adam did the things he did. Adam orders Victor out - but Victor isn't finished with him yet. He informs him that all traces of him have been removed from the ranch and Newman Enterprises - it's like he's been erased! Victor walks out, ignoring Adam's taunts.
You've Got to Let Her Go!
Adam pretends to be non-responsive when the nurse comes into his hospital room. As she leaves, he sneaks some food. Patty comes in and the nurse says he's depressed and won't eat. Adam tells her he just wants to die, and claims he's hearing voices. Patty says this is a dramatic change, then pinches him! When he reacts, she smirks - he's faking it! Patty informs him he won't be getting out of incarceration with that ploy. Adam taunts her about her professionalism. They get pretty intense threatening one another until Patty finally leaves the room. Adam looks thoughtful, then wonders if Emily is Patty!
Wallpaper Paste, Rats, and Tea! Oh My!
Adam calls Victor from the hospital and tells him to check out Restless Style's website - where he can see the truth!
Victor goes in to see Adam in his hospital room. He informs him that every word he told Jill is being removed from the website. Adam accuses Victor of using every opportunity to hurt him, and calls him out on not wanting a relationship with him - the scene at the cabin proved it! Victor says he should have come clean there - it would have been best. Victor tells Adam he reached out to him as a child - it was Hope who sheltered him - and he gave him everything when he came to town - he was so proud of him - but Adam has only shown him hatred and vengeance. Victor warns that Adam's lies are digging him an ever-deeper grave. He notes it's sad to realize that he can't help him now - only God can help him now. A tear glimmers in Adam's eye as Victor exits.
