Unfinished Business.

Adam torments Patty from the vent in the sanitarium. At the same time, Adam's doctor takes Michael and Victor up the hall toward Adam's room. Patty's screams distract the doctor, who goes in to calm her, and leaves her under the orderly's supervision. Victor steps into Adam's room and sees him banging his head against the wall. Michael rolls his eyes and goes to get the doctor. Victor tells Adam he's not insane and soon the whole world will know it! Victor barks that he couldn't even fool the doctor, and implores him to admit to the murder and be a man! Adam says he didn't do it as Michael and the doctor return. Michael smirks. "What do you know, he came out of his trance." They all leave, and Adam asks the orderly for construction paper. He makes a kitty cat mask like the one Patty wore at the ball and plants it in the day room, where Patty becomes agitated when she sees it. Adam stands outside the day room door wearing a paper mask like he wore at the ball and looks in at her - she screams! The doctor takes Patty to his office. Adam lurks in the hall. Once Patty is calm, she heads back to the day room, where all of the people are wearing masks! She flips out and the doctors come running to take her away.

Detective Hollywood!

In his room in the sanitarium, Adam shakily tells a doctor he believes people are out to get him. The doctor wants him to spend time in the day room. Adam stutters his agreement and strokes his beard manically. As soon as the doctor leaves, he ceases his act and loosens the cover on the vent. An orderly comes to take him to the day room.

Patty is in the day room at the sanitarium, pleased with herself for progressing to the point where she can help others. Adam sits with his back to her. Patty is kind to the woman with the doll. Patty is asked to write down her feelings at a table, and the woman sets her doll on the sofa. Adam leaps up and steals the doll when no one is looking. He puts a pen in its heart and puts it back! The woman sees it and Adam points to Patty! Pandemonium ensues as the woman accuses and attacks Patty. As the doctor grills Patty about how the pen got in the doll, Adam listens. Patty repeatedly says she didn't kill anyone. Adam overhears her room number.

Victor and Michael arrive at the sanitarium. Victor asks the doctor to see Adam. The doctor says he is prepared to make a decision on Adam's competence - he thinks he's putting on an act, and will be turned over to the police in the morning. Victor wants to go tell him. In his room, Adam quizzes the orderly on how long he will leave him alone. He then crawls through the vent to Patty's room, where she is having a meltdown remembering Adam's threats. Adam whispers from the vent that she's a murderer and she's going to burn in hell!

Moving On.

On a plane, Sharon listens as Victor explains that they will go straight to the courthouse when they land and Adam will take the stand. Adam says he can't confess to murder without perjuring himself. Victor feels the evidence will prove he did it. He elaborates about him giving Hightower his DNA to set Nick up for the murder. Adam says Victor sounds crazy. Sharon appeals to Adam to just tell the truth. He thinks she just wants him to sacrifice himself to save Nick, and he tells her that when the whole truth comes out she might realize that he's not such a lost cause after all!

At the courthouse, Nick tells Michael it doesn't matter how many people he puts on the stand as character witnesses - he looks totally guilty! Nick insists he must take the stand in his own defense! Michael argues, but Nick threatens to fire him. Michael thinks it will go as badly as Phyllis's testimony, saying Owen will push his buttons and his fate will be sealed. Nick is adamant. Nick takes the stand and Michael quizzes him first. When Owen cross-examines, he says the softball questions are over. Owen and Michael go at it heatedly, then Nick accuses Owen of being out to get his family! As the judge tells Nick he's in contempt, Victor walks through the door with Adam! Owen objects, but the judge allows Michael to put him on the stand. Adam gingerly approaches the stand and acts jittery. Michael peppers Adam with questions, but he babbles and stands up screaming that he's having a panic attack and threatening to kill himself. Victor tells Nikki sternly that he's putting on an act! They all wonder what is up his sleeve now.

Patty is painting a picture in the sanitarium when she hears a big disturbance - it's Adam being brought in!

Vamoose!

In Brazil, Adam asks Victor why he would want to go back to Genoa City with him - he disowned him! Sharon says they need his help. Adam tells them to go to hell! Victor muses they can do this the easy way, or the hard way. He has the Federales with him, ready to fire! Adam makes a move and they fire warning shots. Sharon cries, "No!" Victor says next time they'll shoot to kill. Adam smirks that it's nice to know Sharon still cares. Victor, Adam, and Sharon get into the helicopter. Sharon asks about Skye. Victor doesn't care what happens to her now. He gives the pilot the order, "Vamoose!" Victor tells Sharon he's not going to let Michael know that he's bringing Adam back - he wants to take Pomerantz by surprise. Adam wonders if Victor thinks he's just going to give it up to save his favorite little boy! Adam says he's back in their lives now, you have to wonder who the real winner is! Victor narrows his eyes. Back on the beach in Brazil, Skye revels in a bag of money!

Charlie and Matilda Ashby!

Sharon lets Adam into the room in Brazil, telling him she was afraid she'd never see him again. Adam assumes she is part of the vigilante effort to bring him back, saying he should get it through his thick skull that her feelings for him are gone. Sharon says they're not, and that's why she's there. She tells him this is sort of a test, adding that he never really loved her. Adam feels she shouldn't listen to those who say he only used her. Adam hears a noise and asks what kind of game she is playing. Sharon tells him Victor is meeting her at the plane, and she wants him to come with her and turn himself in. Adam protests that he didn't kill Richard Hightower and he didn't set off the explosives in the Club but no one will believe him! Sharon feels he should clear his name, but he informs her he's never going back! Sharon tells him he risked his freedom to see her. He says if he thought there was a chance for them, he'd do anything. Adam tries to kiss her, but she doesn't kiss back. She says it's because she's afraid to trust him again. She announces that if he could prove he was the man she thought she'd married, she would stand by him! Adam takes a call from Skye and moves to leave. He tells Sharon his love has never wavered and has only grown stronger. She appeals to him to do what's right, and hugs him. She wants to go now, together. She turns to call her cab and Adam leaves!

Adam meets Skye on the beach. She is ecstatic over her win and says they just have to wait for the judge. The judge appears, followed by Victor and Sharon, who says Skye lied to him. Victor tells Adam she lost the game! Victor tells Skye, "I'm a better cheat than you are." He tells Adam it's time for the truth.
