Adam and Skye celebrate in the jail area. She tells him she'll post the bail but wants something in return - his name! Adam admits he didn't see a marriage proposal coming. Heather enters and sends Skye packing. She tells Adam he's disgusting and she will make sure he's convicted. Adam says she shouldn't be on the case because it's personal. Heather tells him no one with a heart will ever make the mistake of caring about him again, then leaves. Skye returns and wants to get married right away - she has a Justice of the Peace with her! They tie the knot and leave.
Abby and the entertainment writer are still comparing notes in the Club dining room. She tells him he can quote her father - he plans to! Nearby, Victor and Nikki are sitting at their table when Sharon greets them. Victor is put out to learn that Sharon is back at the Club because Phyllis left Nick and needed her penthouse. Suddenly, Adam walks into the room. All heads turn as he presents his wife, Mrs. Skye Newman! Adam grins at Victor saying, "Hey Dad. It's great to be back!"
No More Us.
Sharon surprises Adam by visiting the jail. She thinks he may not be happy about why she came, but he's just glad she is there. Sharon reminds him there is no hope for them, but says she wants answers. Adam tells her he was in his own personal hell the whole time they were married, knowing he could end her heartache over her baby, but knowing he would lose her if he did. Sharon demands he make her understand. She is about to go when he admits he went to the Club to kill Hightower, but when she threw his mother's ring at him, he couldn't go through with it because she expected better from him. He claims he was long gone when Patty murdered the man. Adam tells Sharon he is nothing without her. Sharon leaves in tears.
Adam's arraignment begins. He tells the judge he'll be representing himself. She strongly advises against it, but they continue. She asks how he pleads on the charge of conspiracy to commit murder. Before he can answer, Skye comes in and shouts, "Not guilty!"
Damsel in Distress!
Sharon arrives at the jail to see Nick and learns that Adam tricked her and Nick was released. Adam reiterates that he's not a killer and she tells him to quit lying. Sharon takes a call and informs Adam that Patty just confessed. Adam wonders aloud if he maybe pushed her too far. Sharon says regardless, he set Nicholas up! Adam appeals to Sharon to say that she believes he didn't kill anyone.
Rafe and Billy arrive at the jail just as Sharon is leaving in a huff. Rafe goes in with Adam, and Billy asks Sharon if she wants to find somewhere to talk. She nods. Rafe asks Adam why he wants him to be his attorney. Adam says it's because everyone knows he hates him, so it looks good. Rafe tells Adam he won't represent him, adding that he could always represent himself!
I Know Everything!
In jail, Nick tells Adam why he's confident it will be proven that Adam set him up. Adam begs to differ. He wagers Nick will spend more time in prison than he will. Nick brings up the kidnapping of Faith. Adam points out that there is no proof of that other than his confession to Sharon, who isn't credible because she's lied to help Nick before. Nick calls him a sociopath just as Victor appears, and says he agrees. Adam taunts them about the family secrets he will spill on the stand. A portly, bespectacled man enters saying he's Adam Newman's court-appointed lawyer. Nick grins. Adam leaves the area and Victor tells Nick about Patty's confession, saying it's a good sign for him.
Adam meets with his lawyer in another area of the jail. The man is disorganized and seemingly incompetent. Adam fires him, but the man warns that no court-appointed attorney will commit to a long trial. Billy shows up to see Adam. He wants his story for Restless Style. Adam tells him he'll get it - if he brings him Rafe to be his lawyer!
Save the Otters!
An orderly comes into Adam's room at the sanitarium. When he leaves, Adam grabs a flashlight and heads into the vent. In her room, Patty takes her meds and flashes back to the basement of the Club. She murmurs that there were two of them, but she didn't kill anyone. Adam calls from the vent that the devil is coming for her. He creeps out of the vent and points the flashlight into her eyes! He threatens her to stop her from screaming. Patty realizes it is Adam and he tells her he's back from hell to take her with him! Adam tells her how she killed him and then lied about it! He coaches her to tell the world what she did! She protests the she didn't kill him, but he follows her around the room insisting she has blood on her hands. Patty flashes back to the basement and remembers blood on her hands. Adam smiles, "Now you remember."
At the sanitarium, Patty is found curled up and screaming that she will confess to killing Adam as long as the devil doesn't take her! The police burst into Adam's room just as he makes it back into his bed from the vent. They place him under arrest for conspiracy to commit murder!
