    Despair and Desperation.

    Wednesday, May 18 2011

Diane enters Gloworm telling Jack on the phone that Kyle will have to stay with him. Adam approaches and she asks if he hasn't seen despair and desperation before. She confirms it was caused by his father. Adam invites her to come home with him when she says she has nowhere to go. They agree that it will be strictly platonic and will drive Victor crazy.

Michael visits Victor, who talks to him about his annulment to Diane. He also wants him to find a way to get Adam out of Sharon's house. Michael asks who pays the property taxes. Victor says he does. Michael likens Adam's house to an island. Victor says he's brilliant. Victor makes a call and snickers that he can't wait to see Adam's face.

Diane and Adam get home. He says he hasn't packed up Sharon's things - it makes him feel like she's not gone. Diane takes the guestroom, saying she owes him one. Adam laughs that Victor will never see this coming.

Adam says Sharon left him the house and the property it sits on in her will. Nick checks with Michael, who confirms it. Nick offers to buy the house. Adam snarks that he thinks he can buy and sell people just like Victor. Nick tells him no one wants him here. Adam says Sharon did - that's enough for him. He informs Nick that he'll box up Faith's things, and demands his key. Nick notices an article about Sharon's death being a suicide on Adam's laptop. Nick curses D.A. Walsh for speculating. Adam also doesn't want Sharon's memory tainted. Nick leaves, blaming Adam.

Nick strides into the Club and confronts Spencer Walsh about telling the press Sharon's death was suicide. Adam appears and backs him up. Walsh tells them the letters are out, and the final word is that she was depressed and drove herself into the ravine - case closed. Nick says he's hurting her children. Walsh leaves. Adam tells Nick that Faith and Noah will know the truth - Sharon loved them too much to commit suicide. Nick says it's the only thing they'll ever agree on.

Leslie meets with Adam at the jail. He says he's confident he'll be out in no time. They discuss Sharon and the Newman family. She goes, and Nick arrives. Nick and Adam debate how the deal will work. Adam says they must first drop the charges, but Nick replies, "No letters, no deal." Adam tells him to verify the letters exist through Doris. Later, Leslie returns and tells Adam he's successfully played the system again, but the D.A. is personally accompanying him to retrieve the letters.

The letters are handed over at the Club. Nick tells Adam he's done with him, and orders him to stay away from his family.

Adam sits at the bar and toasts Sharon. Victor appears and suggests he leave town. Adam decides to stay around just to spite him. Just as Adam gets a call about a codicil, Michael arrives and whispers to Victor that Sharon and Vance put a codicil in her will - she wanted Adam provided for and left him her house on the ranch. Adam tells Leslie she made his day and hangs up. He tells Victor he'll see him back at the ranch.

He says they can blame him for what happened to her, but they ostracized her and isolated her - and in the end, they all killed her. Adam attacks Nikki and Phyllis for how they've treated Sharon. Nikki storms out. He calls Billy out for hurting Sharon with Restless Style, and Jack for lying to her. Adam points the finger at Nick for cheating on Sharon, and last but not least, Victor for doing nothing when Sharon needed him most. Victor bellows at him to get out now! The cops drag Adam out. Noah wants him locked up. Diane asks Nick if he's alright. He tells her to worry about her husband. Billy and Daniel send Abby and Vikki on without them.
