Nick visits with Doris at Gloworm. She tells him that there will be no insurance money since Sharon's death was ruled a suicide. Adam appears. Doris says she invited him - she needs them both to help get the insurance money so she can set up a fund for teenage girls who can't afford to go to college. Doris hands over the paperwork and wishes them luck. Nick tells Adam they should divide and conquer. They make some calls and don't make any progress. They decide to go to New Mexico to re-examine the crash site. Adam asks if they're doing this for real - together. Nick nods, "We're doing this." Abby arrives and Nick grudgingly admits he's working with Adam. Nick and Adam go on camera to speak out and challenge the coroner's office on the ruling of suicide. Victor turns up and is surprised to learn they are heading to New Mexico together. He offers his help, but they decline. Abby approaches Victor and they sit. Nikki enters and orders a vodka tonic, but rushes out when she spots the others. Nick and Adam confirm their trip to San Pueblo, and Victor questions Abby about the night of the accident.
Nick sits at Gloworm, talking to Faith about Cassie. Diane and Adam enter. Nick tells Adam to stay back from Faith and mocks him for losing access to Sharon's house. Adam lets him know Diane is his roommate. Nick sneers at Diane's choice of company, and tells Adam he obviously never really cared about Sharon. Diane says she knows where she stands with Adam. Nick spits that they deserve each other and leaves. Diane sits and complains to Adam about the way Newmans treat people. She suggests they have some fun, but Adam says they are only roommates - he loved Sharon and would have died in that car a million times over if she could be here with her kids. Diane apologizes. Adam talks about Sharon's love, and remembers how she made him pasta primavera for Thanksgiving. Diane says some kind words and then heads to their suite at the Club. Adam flashes to proposing to Sharon and cries.
At home, Adam marvels that Diane can cook. She points out that this is mutually beneficial - she gets a roof over her head and he gets to stick it to dear old dad. Diane goes outside and stretches for a run in front of Victor's window. She returns to the house and Victor comes to the door. Adam smirks, "Meet my new roommate." Victor tells Adam he has one redeeming quality - his affection for Sharon - and now he's got another woman in her bed. He lists off the men Diane's slept with, including Nicholas, sneering that he's known all along. Victor tells them they won't beat him and leaves. Adam and Diane agree to launch Operation Head Explode. Diane prepares to head out, but has to ask for gas money. Adam decides to go with her.
Adam and Diane return to the ranch to find the guards won't let them in. Adam looks at the paperwork and tells Diane he'll have to drop from a plane to get to his house - Victor owns the driveway.
At Gloworm, Billy tells Rafe he's worried about what will happen with Lucy. Rafe suggests Billy work things out with Chloe where Delia's concerned. Rafe goes. Adam appears and asks Billy to print an article dispelling rumors that Sharon committed suicide. Billy agrees to do it for Sharon.
Diane enters Gloworm telling Jack on the phone that Kyle will have to stay with him. Adam approaches and she asks if he hasn't seen despair and desperation before. She confirms it was caused by his father. Adam invites her to come home with him when she says she has nowhere to go. They agree that it will be strictly platonic and will drive Victor crazy.
Michael visits Victor, who talks to him about his annulment to Diane. He also wants him to find a way to get Adam out of Sharon's house. Michael asks who pays the property taxes. Victor says he does. Michael likens Adam's house to an island. Victor says he's brilliant. Victor makes a call and snickers that he can't wait to see Adam's face.
Diane and Adam get home. He says he hasn't packed up Sharon's things - it makes him feel like she's not gone. Diane takes the guestroom, saying she owes him one. Adam laughs that Victor will never see this coming.
Nick goes into Sharon's house and sees Cassie's framed drawing. Adam appears, and Nick gives him three seconds to get out. Adam says Sharon left him the house and the property it sits on in her will. Nick checks with Michael, who confirms it. Nick offers to buy the house. Adam snarks that he thinks he can buy and sell people just like Victor. Nick tells him no one wants him here. Adam says Sharon did - that's enough for him. He informs Nick that he'll box up Faith's things, and demands his key. Nick notices an article about Sharon's death being a suicide on Adam's laptop. Nick curses D.A. Walsh for speculating. Adam also doesn't want Sharon's memory tainted. Nick leaves, blaming Adam.
Nick strides into the Club and confronts Spencer Walsh about telling the press Sharon's death was suicide. Adam appears and backs him up. Walsh tells them the letters are out, and the final word is that she was depressed and drove herself into the ravine - case closed. Nick says he's hurting her children. Walsh leaves. Adam tells Nick that Faith and Noah will know the truth - Sharon loved them too much to commit suicide. Nick says it's the only thing they'll ever agree on.
