In the Newman break room, after Jack calls to say he's unable to go to the photo shoot, Sharon assures him she can handle it herself. Suddenly, Phyllis shows up and tries to thank Sharon for not talking to the DA. However, Sharon tells Phyllis to, "Save it," then leaves!
Nick briefly stops home to say goodbye to Phyllis and Summer and promises to make it up to them when he returns…
A Blast From Gloria's Past!
At Newman, Phyllis reads an article bashing her defense and shows Nick a statement she wants to issue. When Michael arrives at Newman, he tears up Phyllis's statement and vows to win her case!
From Newman, Brad leaves a message for Vikki, "I hope you're feeling better." After he hangs up, Jack arrives in the break room and tells Brad to drop the charges against Phyllis. Although Jack reminds Brad to concentrate on his wife and new baby, Brad doesn't reveal his loss. After Jack leaves, Phyllis comes in and offers Brad a deal - rather another threat - saying that Brad illegally purchased the land surrounding Jack's Clear Springs project, "Drop the charges by 5:00pm and I'll do nothing." Phyllis admits that she's sorry, "I never should've done what I did." However, Brad says, "Your sorrow should go along way at trial. I told you… If I go down, you're going down with me!"
After Jack takes a call from Victor saying he couldn't make headway with Brad, Jack tells Phyllis to take the DA's deal. "No," Phyllis says. "I'm going to trial."
Later in the NVP office, Nick comforts Phyllis and convinces her to stay positive about the upcoming trial, "We'll get through this." When Michael returns, after he asks Phyllis to remain strong, he warns, "There's always a minuscule chance that you could go to prison."
In the break room, after Nikki and Jack decide to make a joint statement to the press regarding Phyllis, Nikki calls Phyllis and tells her to report to Victor's office. When Phyllis and Nick arrive, Jack and Nikki give Phyllis a leave of absence from NVP! Although furious, Phyllis agrees but says, "When I win this case, I will accept your joint apology." However, Nick says, "I won't!"
How Could You!
In the Newman break room, when Daniel worries about the charges against Phyllis, she refuses to talk to him about it and says, "It's not a big deal. However, Daniel knows better.
Phyllis goes to Jack's office and asks, "Do you hate me?" Although Phyllis says she never meant to hurt his campaign, Jack begs to differ! Suddenly, Ben joins them and demands that Phyllis leave, "I don't want you anywhere near Jack!" When Phyllis asks if that's what Jack wants, Jack agrees, "We shouldn't be seen in the same room together until this campaign is over." After Phyllis leaves, Ji Min calls and says, "I need to talk to you now. It's urgent!"
Back in the break room, in front of Phyllis, Daniel opens an evaluation letter from Newman commenting on his late and sloppy work habits.
