At the tack house, Phyllis tries to remain strong and expresses wanting to spend time with Summer, "I don't know how many days I'll have left." Although Michael scolds Phyllis and says to have a positive attitude, Phyllis dreads having to plan Nick's memorial with Nikki, "A woman who wants me locked up." Talk of Brad comes up and Michael says, "Brad's damaged goods. He'll waffle." Just then, Michael gets a call from Kay demanding to see him right away.
When Vikki arrives at the ranch, she and Nikki get right into planning. Although Phyllis shows up to give her input, Nikki snaps and dismisses Phyllis's wishes! Phyllis stands back while Nikki and Vikki act as though she's not even there until Nikki asks, "Phyllis, do you have any suggestions for a picture to include?" Of course, Nikki and Victoria don't see the humor in Phyllis's funny memory of Nick and deem her picture suggestion as 'not appropriate!' Finally, having enough, Phyllis says, "Do what you want to do. It doesn't matter to me."
As the three are arguing, Brad shows up and demands to talk to Vikki. However, she keeps blowing him off by saying, "We're busy!"
Phyllis returns to the tack house, tells Lauren about her time with 'The Newmans" then asks for some time alone. After Lauren leaves, Phyllis breaks down in sorrow for Nick. She picks up their wedding picture and says, "I miss you… Oh, my, God, what am I going to do without you…"
When Kay visits Phyllis at the tack house with a gift for Summer, Phyllis expresses that Nick didn't want to get on that plane and says, "He wanted to stay here… I told him to go…" Kay takes hold of Phyllis's hand and says, "If you need someone to talk to, I'm here." When Kay sees the fireflies that Noah caught, Phyllis freaks out and starts shaking the jar and cries, "They are dead! How am I going to tell Noah these bugs are dead?"
News From Afar!
Lauren and Fen arrive at the tack house to find Phyllis sleeping and inform Michael that they didn't find Nick's body yet. When Fen starts to cry, Phyllis mumbles, "Nick, get the baby, please." After she fully wakes up, she says, "Oh, please, tell me this is a dream." While Lauren is with the babies, Phyllis tells Michael she needs to be there for Summer and begs him to talk to Bardwell, "Please, please, keep me out of jail." Michael calls William who agrees to meet with him. After Michael hangs up, he leaves Lauren with Phyllis and heads to work.
Lauren assures Phyllis that she can't imagine that William will continue to prosecute her - under the circumstances. Nonetheless, Phyllis says, "If I go to jail, I want you and Michael to raise Summer." Phyllis goes on to say she refuses to have her daughter raised by the Newman's, "I'm going to have Michael draw up the papers." Phyllis breaks down and admits that Nick was the better parent and cries, "If one of us had to die, it should have been me!"
When Michael returns to the tack house, he explains he did everything he could to get to William. Just then, William calls and says, "I'm moving forward and convening the grad jury." Although Michael plans to defend her the best way he can, Michael says to Phyllis, "I'm sorry." Frightened, Phyllis looks at Michael and says, "Okay… I trust you…"
News From The Coastgaurd!
In the tack house, Phyllis gets a call from Victor saying Sharon is alive and that he's heading to the crash site. After she hangs up, Daniel arrives and takes Noah outside. Phyllis relays the news to Michael and bursts out in tears, "But Nick was on the plane." Suddenly, Sharon calls and cries to Phyllis, "I'm so sorry." Sharing in grief, they talk of Noah and Sharon worries, "How am I going to tell my son he's lost his father?"
When Sharon and Jack arrive at the tack house, Noah asks where Nick is. After Sharon suggests they go home, Noah shows Sharon the fireflies Daniel and he caught and says with excitement, "I can't wait to show Dad when he gets home."
