Victor visits Adam to let him know he told Victoria they're moving forward. He asks why Adam seems troubled. Adam admits he's concerned Victoria could be planning another coup. Victor says she thinks the same about him; they've much in common. Victor suggests they all sit down together and work this out.
Victoria and Nikki discuss her use of a private investigator at Boulevard. Nikki thinks Victor should handle Adam while Vikki focuses on growing her family. They debate. Nikki realizes Vikki feels left out. She reassures her. Victoria admits Victor asked her to have dinner with him and Adam. Nikki urges her to try. Victoria worries Victor is placating her. Dr. Costner checks in with Nikki and tells her she looks great. Vikki thinks he was flirting. Victor and Adam appear. Victoria says she won't join them; Billy's waiting. Adam mentions prioritizing so Victoria phones Billy to say she'll be late. Nikki leaves them to join Kurt at the bar. She talks to him about getting back in the dating game. Victor starts the meeting. He thinks Victoria should run Beauty of Nature. She snarks that he's placating her. Adam steps away to take a call. Victor tells Victoria she's being obstinate. She leaves and hears Adam on the phone saying he'll call the doctor back, he has questions about his wife's pregnancy. Adam returns to the table and complains about Victoria walking out.
Billy flirts with Victoria who is working at home. She rebuffs him. She's fixated on Adam warning her about digging up secrets. She wonders what information he could have to blackmail them with. Later, Victor stops by to tell Victoria that Adam's buying the company back for them. Vikki says he's chosen Adam over her. She rants about Adam being the golden child and they argue about Billy. She is outraged that Victor doesn't even know where Adam got the funds. Victor needs her by his side. She realizes he doesn't trust Adam either. He insists he hasn't lost faith in Adam and wants her to sit down and work something out with them. She agrees to consider it.
At On The Boulevard, Adam thanks Sharon for listening last night. Victor and Nikki sit down nearby. They discuss Adam. Victor admits they've reached an impasse on a certain issue. Adam kisses Sharon and leaves. Victor tells Nikki he thinks he's found a solution, and leaves. Noah arrives and chats with Sharon about his life and romance. Nikki interrupts to hug Noah. Once alone, Sharon tells Nikki she's sorry about her diagnosis. Nikki doesn't need her pity - her life is fuller than Sharon's. They bicker.
At the penthouse, Victor and Adam bicker about the funding issue. Adam wants his trust. Victor says he's right - he will allow the outside source of funding. In return, Victor wants Adam to show him an act of faith by cutting Sharon out of his life. Adam shrugs that she doesn't work for him, and they aren't married. They debate. Victor says Sharon has damaged the Newman family - if he wants him to approve the funding he has to get rid of Sharon. Victor advises that Sharon is not the right woman for him - to have his children. He adds that Chelsea has trapped two men with pregnancies - thankfully it's not him. Adam is touchy. Victor tells him to get back to him once he's removed Sharon from his life. Sharon arrives. Adam tells her it's not a good time. She asks if it's over. He says it had to end sometime. He's not interested anymore. Sharon tears up thinking of all the times she defended him. "You really are the bastard everyone says you are, and I'm the fool they say I am."
Victor rejoins Nikki at the restaurant. Sharon enters crying.
Victor visits Adam at home. He still wants answers about the funding. Adam asks Victor to trust him. Adam adds that this is business; if Victor doesn't agree with it, maybe he should back off of their partnership and Adam will run things again. Victor says he's beginning to question his judgement. He opens the door - Sharon's there. Adam kisses her. Victor leaves. Adam admits to Sharon he kissed her to show Victor he's his own man. Sharon doesn't want to be in their game. Adam tells Sharon when he needs more from Victor, he pulls away. Sharon says it's the control thing. "When it comes to power games, Victor's the master." Adam will find a way to out-master him. Later, Sharon and Adam debate about whether Victor has helped him or not.
At the Club, Victor wants Adam to tell him how he got the funding to buy the company back. Victoria passes by and sits with her P.I. She thanks him for getting what she needs. Adam watches her as Victor continues questioning him. Adam insists he'd never put them at risk. He leaves and Victoria joins Victor. He asks who the man was, and Victoria says he's helping with arrangements for her family's future. By the door, Adam and Nate pretend to discuss fishing. Adam asks if anything's biting. Nate says she swallowed it whole. Once alone, Victor calls the head of finance to find out how Adam got the money.
Victor and Adam discuss Victoria at work. Adam points out she's a Newman - that makes her inherently dangerous - he doesn't want to be blindsided. Victor tells Adam that he and Victoria are far more alike than either of them wants to admit. Adam thinks with three of them running things after the buyout there would be too many cooks in the kitchen. Victor chuckles. He'll make it work.
Adam tells Victor, in his office, that Hope would be touched watching them work together. Victor says she was remarkable. Abby arrives. She mentions having breakfast with her siblings. Adam realizes Victoria sounded the battle horn. Victor asks Abby to confirm. She does. Abby informs them she won't be taking either side and wishes them luck. Victor looks out the window. "Betrayed by my own children." Victoria appears. She and Victor bicker over Adam and what he's capable of. Victor says he saved his life! Victoria says that was just instinct. She tells Victor she'll never trust Adam and won't give up trying to protect him. Adam warns Victor that Victoria wants a duel to the death and will force him to choose her or him.
