Christine Blair arrived in Genoa City in 1983 working as a model for Jabot's teen line. Known to her friends and family as Cricket, she had quite an emotional time when it came to relationships. Although she was once engaged to Phillip Chancellor, they never made it down the aisle after Chris found him in bed with her best friend Nina.
Christine went on to be date raped by Derek Stuart who chose suicide over jail time, then had a real eye-opener when her law mentor, Michael Baldwin, sexually harassed her, stalked her and ended up kidnapping and almost rapping her! In the end, Paul Williams came to her rescue and Michael was sent to prison for years.
Although Christine married her longtime love Danny Romalotti, their married ended after Danny had an affair with Phyllis Summers. Throughout her career, Chris went on assignments with detective Paul Williams and the two ended up getting married, after Cris and Paul found themselves victims of a hit-and-run accident with Phyllis behind the wheel! No one was hurt and Phyllis was never found out.
Some of Christine's most memorable law cases were working with the Newman's to gain custody of Sharon's daughter Cassie, being a go-between for the Abbott's, the Newman's, the Chancellor's, defending Daniel Romalotti in a vehicular manslaughter case and working briefly as the Assistant District Attorney. Amazingly, Christine even believed in Michael Baldwin enough to go in front of the parole board and convince them that he was a changed man! In turn, Michael was released from prison and ended up being Christine's law partner!
While Christine had thought she'd found the love of her life in Paul Williams, their marriage was filled with a lot of heartache. There came a time when Paul wanted children, but Chris wanted her career. After her first big case, while partnered up with Michael, took her to Hong Kong, Paul fell into the arms of his new client Isabella. Months later, Chris returned home and found Paul in bed with Isabella and filed for divorce and took a new case in Australia. Isabella later became pregnant and Paul married her. It wasn't until after Paul and Isabella's son was born that Chris returned to GC and realized that she was still in love with Paul! Chris and Paul had a heavily passionate one-night stand where at one point Chris had thought he'd crossed the line and raped her. However, they soon had another fling, but Chris decided, in the end, to marry Michael Baldwin, which never worked out either. However, enraged with jealousy over Christine and Paul's relationship, Isabella tried to fake her death as a way to cover up a plot to murder Chris, but Paul rescued Chris in time and had his crazed wife sent to a mental hospital. Although Chris and Paul gave their relationship another try, she ended up back in the arms of Danny Romalotti and helped his son Daniel adjust to life in Genoa City.
Christine's next best case came in 2005 when she was hired to defend Daniel Romalotti in his vehicular manslaughter case. Although Chris worked diligently to prove Daniel's innocence, Nick Newman ended up coming forward with evidence that cleared Daniel. Christine went to work out of town.
In July of 2010, Christine returned to find Paul and Nina had struck up a romance and made love for the first time. Chris gave them her blessing, but was disappointed not to have Paul for herself. Christine had Ronan Malloy working undercover for her and knew that he was Nina's long lost son, but couldn't tell her. Nina and Paul were looking for her son, and Chris decided to leave because they were getting too close to the truth. She kissed Nick Newman at Jimmie's during this confusing time. Later, after the truth about Ronan had come out, Nina was furious with Christine for keeping it from her. Paul turned away from her as well. As Chance was believed to have died at that time at Ronan's hand, Nina was outraged when Christine showed up with Ronan at Chance's funeral. Christine and Ronan arranged for Nina and Phillip to be taken to a clandestine location where they revealed Chance was very much alive and going into the Witness Protection Program. They all agreed to never speak of it, but Christine told Katherine when she was concerned for her health.
When Ronan had a health crisis and needed a liver transplant, Christine contacted Chance and arranged for him to be tested. He was a match so Christine told Nina he would come and do the transplant after he testified at the former D.A.'s trial. Christine was around for the transplant and for Ronan's disappearance afterward.
Christine again returned to town months later to prosecute the Pomerantz case. Later, she confronted Ronan about his previous disappearance. She met Paul's son Ricky, and then left town again.
Christine popped up in Genoa City on business in the spring of 2012. Danny was also in town and the exes rekindled their passion. Christine refused to leave her job and go on tour with him, however, so they tearfully parted ways. At this time, Christine became involved in trying to bring down Genevieve Atkinson, Cane's mother, and also with Paul's investigation of his suspicions about Ricky. Christine cut a deal with Genevieve and left again.
Christine returned after Paul shot Ricky and offered to defend him. During this time, Christine found Phyllis' old psychiatric file in Ricky's apartment and realized she was the person who had tried to run down her and Paul years ago. Christine wanted Phyllis behind bars, and she was arrested. When it went to trial, a judge threw out the case against Phyllis because Christine was not a Federal agent at the time of the crime and the statute of limitations had run out. Christine vowed to go after Phyllis in a civil suit, but Paul and Michael just wanted her to let it go. Christine helped get Paul acquitted of the murder charges and they realized they still harbored feelings for one another. Christine traveled to New York to break the news to Danny and moved back to Genoa City to be with Paul. She got her own apartment and took Michael job as D.A. when he resigned. Christine was rarely seen, but appeared at the memorial for Katherine Chancellor where Paul proposed and they were married in an impromptu ceremony with Nina and Danny both wishing them well.
