When Lauren and Michael enter the apartment, they find Gloria frantic, the smoke detector going off, and Lauren's pie burning in the oven! Lauren is clearly upset, as she made the pie special for Michael. However, they both feel sorry for Gloria. Michael calls William, tells him that Gloria is having a very hard time being without John for the holidays. Michael asks William to stop by to see her! Kevin and Jana show up with dessert, putting a smile on Lauren's face. When the doorbell rings, Gloria is happily surprised to see William at the door. Gloria invites him in, and William joins the family for dinner. Over the meal, they talk about Michael losing his grandmother, leading Jana to take interest in Michael's family tree.
Who's The Boss?
At the coffeehouse, Kevin and Gloria bring in turkeys that The House of Kim gave them for Thanksgiving, thanking them for all their hard work. Jana, Kevin and Gloria laugh at the sentiment. Gloria leaves…
Jana offers to make Thanksgiving dinner for Kevin's family. Kevin's not sure how Gloria will feel about that and quickly changes the subject, saying that they get to move into their new apartment soon!
Jana arrives at Lauren's, offering to cook them Thanksgiving dinner. However, Gloria says she has it all under control. When Jana questions her about preparations, Gloria realizes that she needs Jana's help after all. Jana asks if Gloria would like to help her decorate her and Kevin's new apartment, taking her mind off of Thanksgiving. When Jana and Lauren are alone, Jana tells Lauren that since she'll be moving into the building, she'd love to help Lauren out with the baby.
I Need To Be Honest...
Gloria tells Jana that Will didn't show up for the meeting last night, that she really was looking forward to seeing his reaction to her new look. Jana assures Gloria that there will be plenty of other times, to be patient. Just then, Michael and Lauren show up at the coffeehouse surprised by Gloria's new look. Gloria gets a call from William, apologizing for missing the meeting. He asks her if she'll meet him for lunch at the club. Gloria agrees, says she's on her way. She waves goodbye to Michael, Lauren and Kevin as Jana walks her out. Gloria is filled with excitement as Jana wishes her luck! Michael gets a call from Neil saying that Devon has been arrested! Michael leaves for the courthouse…
At the coffeehouse, Lauren can't seem to get the baby to stop crying. Jana suggests she let her try to help. Jana takes the baby and he stops crying, leaving Lauren upset that she couldn't comfort Fenmore herself. With the baby asleep in Jana's arms, Lauren relaxes with a cup of tea. Lauren asks Jana if she'd be interested in helping her out with the baby on a part time basis.
Jana tells Kevin about Lauren's offer, and he thinks she should take it.
The Blame Game
Gloria visits Kevin at the coffeehouse, to where Jana and Kevin tell her they finally got their own apartment in Michael's building. When Gloria asks Jana to help her with the computer, Jana sees that Gloria is doing some research on how to look more glamorous. Jana questions whether Gloria has a new man in her life. However, Gloria claims that she simply needs a change. When Jana sees that Gloria is reading about William Bardwell, Gloria admits that she's attracted to him, that she really got to know him at the support group. Jana reminds her that William prosecuted her husband, but Gloria says she's come to terms with that.
Kevin rejoins them, and Jana fills him in on Gloria's new interest. Kevin plays the devil's advocate, questioning Gloria about what she's getting into with William. Jana tells Gloria she's going to help her impress William. With a little help from Jana, Kevin is shocked by Gloria's sophisticated appearance. Gloria thanks Jana, then heads to the club to attend the support meeting, hoping she'll impress William.
A Difference Of Opinion
Jana joins Lauren, starts talking about Carmen's murder case. While Lauren would rather not talk about it, Jana it intrigued with the case. Lauren says she'll just be happy when Michael isn't so tied up in his workload.
