Adrian shows up at the Coffeehouse and Amber introduces him to 'Feather' the taro card reader. After he refuses a reading, Adrian tells Amber he'll be back to pick her up for dinner in a bit. Amber sits down for a reading and asks about 'a friend' (Kay) who's trying to figure out something from her past. Through a series of cards, Feather states that 'her friend' has experienced a desperate act but has the potential to make everything work out.
Michael and Gloria arrive at the coffeehouse and Gloria and Jana talk about Gloria's lingering interest in William. Jana comes up with a plan!
Jana asks Feather for some insight into Kevin and her relationship, and she warns them that they're in for an upheaval in their life! Jana thinks it has something to do with the Carmen Mesta murder, and names Adrian when the devil card comes up!
As Il Divo performs at the Colonnade Room, the many different residents of Genoa City enjoy the New Years. As the countdown to the New Year ends, Jill gets a call from Hong Kong (really a fake call from Jana) and Gloria lays a kiss on William! Jill returns and says the call never went through and, in front of Gloria, William gives Jill her New Year's kiss!
A Holiday Celebration
Over coffee, Kevin gives Jana a gift in their new apartment. She opens it to find a book on serial killers! Jana puts a bow on her chest and asks Kevin if he wants to open his gift now! As they're making love, Michael calls wondering where they are and Kevin says, "In bed." Michael takes the hint and hangs up.
Jana and Kevin arrive at Michael's and Kevin asks Joanna how long she'll be staying, Joanna says for 'a while, 'causing Gloria to mumble something under her breath! When asked about her family, Jana tells Gloria that she spoke to them that morning, leaving Kevin confused…Kevin and Jana go back to their apartment to retrieve more gifts.
Back in their apartment, Kevin asks Jana why she lied to his mom about talking to her family that morning. Jana says that she didn't want to have to tell Gloria that she and her family don't get along and ruin the day. She kisses Kevin and pulls him down to the couch while the serial killer book rests on the end table.
Lauren and Michael are surprised to arrive home and find that Gloria and Joanna seem to be getting along. Kevin and Jana come in and they all exchange gifts. Joanna gives Lauren a book on how to raise a baby, and Gloria gives her one on how babies develop themselves!
A Moment Of Weakness
At Indigo, Kevin gives Jana compliments as Victor and Nikki dance in the background. As she looks around the room, Jana comments how spooky it is being stranded with someone who could be Carmen's killer. As JT tries to call Colleen, Jana and Kevin approach him and ask about the Carmen Mesta case. JT teases Jana and tells her that he saw the crime scene pictures with the murder weapon lying next to Carmen's body. As Jana gets engulfed with excitement, begging for JT to tell her what was used to kill Carmen, JT laughs and tells her a pretzel stick! Jana and Kevin shake their heads at JT's sense of humor then walk away…
Jana runs up to JT and says she found masking tape in the supply room and suggests that they all put their fingerprints on it and have a little fun! Suddenly, Victor comes up behind Jana and puts a stop to her nonsense! Kevin tells Jana that not all people share her exciting interest in Carmen's murder.
