    Quote HOT PINK:
Quote lynnw: I hope you're having a wonderful Monday Hot Pink...it sure felt nice not having to worry about going to Hospice after work. I've been doing it for around 6 years and it's time to take a break.

The sun is in and out today. It's a pleasant day though, not too hot. I have the windows open and there's a good breeze blowing in. Cracker went out earlier and now she's chasing lizards. She watched one under the deck for almost 1/2 hour, then walked around the house and wanted in. It's be so nice if she's becoming more use to being a housecat. Although I think she'll always want to go outdoors some. Wendy says Max is better but she's taking Shep to get his rabies shot and the vet said to bring the cat in and she'd check him. I'm glad she took him yesterday. Poor thing, if his fever was 105, I know he felt bad.

The PTO fed us today. They had baked potatoes, chicken salad, all types of pasta salads and desserts. The new lady bought us a slice of cake she made, a sour cream pound cake with cream cheese icing. It had almond flavoring in it and was very good. She's suppose to give me the recipe. Have you ever made one? She said you use 6 eggs and in place of milk, a container of sour cream. Hers wasn't dry but I've always used milk in mine.

There's enough l/o's for dinner tonight. Amy never did eat yesterday and her husband didn't either. Matthew ate at youth group. You just never know how much of anything to fix. Matthew decided he wanted to spend the night since he didn't have school today. Think he wanted to sleep in the new bed. He said it slept good.

I may go lay down awhile. I feel like I could take a short nap but Amy left her phone up here last night and I know that as soon as I get settled, they'll come in. Always happens.

I hope your weather is nice and you were able to get out a bit and enjoy it. See you later.

Hi, lynnw - it wasn't as hot here either today. It was a good day to do yard work, which my neighbor did. Watching her work in her yard wears me out, I have to say! Bet it was nice not having to go to hospice. Hope you'll enjoy your break from going.

It's great that Cracker is getting used to being a house cat. After growing up in the "wild" (as it were), guess it takes time for a cat to adjust to being inside most of the time. It's just the opposite with Sami - Can't hardly get her to go outside. Little miss Sassi is the opposite and tries to escape every time the door opens. But, after the hawk incident, I'm very wary of letting her go out very often unless I'm holding her. I'm very glad Max is feeling better. Hope it won't be hard for Wendy to take both Shep and Max to the vet at the same time.

Nice of the PTO to feed you all at lunch today. After all of the hard work you do all years, I know it's nice to have a treat. Sounds like there was enough food to feed an army. I've had sour cream pound came, but have never made one. I am going to make a pound cake for Mother's Day to take to my mom's. Can't find my bundt pan, so I'll have to use my large loaf pan instead. Still don't know what flavor to make. If the kids are going to be there, I will probably make my Cadbury's Chocolate Cake.

Christopher went to my mom's and kept the kids while she worked today. Gave me a break and I was able to get some rest after not being able to sleep very well the past few nights. If it's raining on Wednesday, I might not have to keep them since Thomas won't be able to go to work. He started working at a landscaping company that is across the road from my mom's, which makes it very convenient and easy for him to get to work.

It's supposed to be raining tomorrow and possibly Wednesday, so Thomas may not be working the next couple of days. If that's the case, he can babysit the kids on Wednesday while my mom works.

Fried some boneless chicken breasts I got on sale at Food Lion earlier. I got them in three pieces each, and coated them in seasoned flour and homemade breadcrumbs. Also made some cornbread dressing, and everyone was really good. Forgot to make Christopher's scalloped potatoes, so we have them tomorrow night with some Polish Kielbasa.

Well, time to get the kitchen cleaned up. Hope you were able to relax a bit after your dinner. Please say hello to Hubby and hug Cracker for me. Take care, and have a very nice night.

I hope you're having a good Tuesday Hot Pink....it looks very much like rain here. My husband said it was suppose to move in around lunch but it hasn't gotten here yet. I went to pick a few more strawberries after work. Just got one bucket this time. They're harder to find this time around. The patch will probably close this week or next. I do want to freeze a few more and I'm going to call Amy to see if she wants some since she hasn't had time to pick any. I also went to vote afterwards. It's right down the road and was there and back in 15 minutes. My husband has gone to pick up Matthew. He and Will both had a soccer game last night, 7:30 and Matt has one tonite, also 7:30. Of course we aren't going. My husband says he's getting tired of it. I've never heard him say that.

It is nice for Thomas to be working so close by. Especially with the price of gas. It is dropping a little but needs to come down lots more.

I shouldn't want to see any strawberries since I had to do them alot at work today. We'd been just washing and putting them in containers but the manager said today they have to be capped. They're much prettier with the green caps left on. The kids can really go thru them. Too fast. Bad thing is, they're on the menu tomorrow also. Seems like they run something in the ground.

I don't have any idea what we'll have for Mother's Day. Think I'll suggest subs. That'll be easy and good. Don't know if they'll agree or not. I'm sure not cooking alot. Do that every other Sunday. The cadbury cake will be good. I should make another one. Avery has gotten so he loves chocolate cake and he'd love this one. Guess we'll have hot dogs for tonight.

Cracker has gone and laid back down. she wanted to go out when I got in but guess she saw that wasn't going to happen.

Hope you sleep better tonight. I woke up and had trouble getting back. That's most nights though. See you tomorrow.

Hey, lynnw - I'm having a quiet day. Don't feel like doing much; but, it's that way most days. Guess it was a good day to pick strawberries since it's not to hot out (at least it isn't here). I'd like to get some more before Sunday if I can, so I will probably run to a Springs produce stand on Friday or Saturday to get some. I'd like to freeze some in popsicle holders for the kids and for us big kids as well.

I'm sure going to so many games during the week is very tiring for you and Hubby. You'd think the kids would get tired of playing as well. They're calling for t'storms here, so maybe you'll get some and the games will be called.

Don't know what we're doing Sunday. Wish I could afford to take my mom out to eat someplace then have cake at my place. I think it would be nice if someone else cooked for you and/or would take you out to eat on Sunday. You deserve a break!

I'm very happy Thomas is working now and that he can walk to work. Don't know if he does, though. Christopher applied for a job at the local golf club and we're hoping he gets called in for an interview that will ultimately end with him getting the job. Please keep your fingers crossed (and say a few prayers as well). Noticed that gas has gone down at least 10 cents/gallon at the station I get my gas from. I'm going to go there to buy a Megamillions lottery ticket in a little while and pray that I get lucky and win something (okay, I mean win A LOT!).

I think you're right about going overboard with serving the same foods a lot at school. As much as kids may like strawberries or other things, I'm betting they get tired of seeing (and eating) it day after day.

Sami is out on the back porch and I guess Sassi is asleep somewhere (probably in my bed). And, with Christopher in his room, it's nice and quiet. After GH goes off in a few, I may close my eyes for a spell.

Hope you, Hubby and Cracker are doing all right and will all have a wonderful evening. Take care!

Hi Hot Pink...we're having quite a storm, started out as rain and wind but the thunder and lightening has moved in now. I had a hair appointment after work to get a few streaks put in; also trimming some. The girl was one Amy use to babysit for and she really did a good job. She may be my new hairdresser. Anyway, when I got in, the rain was blowing in the windows. My husband was out in his little building.

Guess that knocks out any games tonight. I wasn't going last night but Amy's husband and a friend were working on Eddie's little building and he didn't go and I hated to think of the boys playing and no one watching them. Amy was going to alternate games so I went. Her husband and a friend have gone to meet his parents halfway and get his sister's truck. Amy said they can't stand to keep it and I can understand that. Anyway, Zack will get his license in a year and a half so they'll need something else.

I was afraid I'd have to do those other 6 boxes of strawberries but the manager sent them to the other school. They didn't do any last week so it was only right.

I do hope your son gets the job at the golf course. With summer comming up, there'd be plenty of work.

Today is Will's 13th birthday and we have to go down to take his gift. He's having a party on Saturday but I'm not staying from 5-9. We'll go and eat (they're roasting hot dogs) and leave.

I'm having frozen spaghetti so I need to go get it out. See you later

Hey, lynnw - We had a t'storm earlier and it has brightened up a bit. But, they say we may have more storms tonight. Kept the kids at my mom's today and they were not too bad, thank goodness. But, I do wish they actually listen when I tell them to do (or not to do) something. I keep telling them adults wouldn't get upset with them if they would listen. But, of course, they didn't listen. When I was their age(s), I already knew to say "Yes, sir, no sir, yes ma'am, no ma'am" when my folks spoke to me. It sure isn't that way these days, which is sad. Every child should be taught good manners, so I'm going to work hard to do just that with them.

My mom won't have to work the rest of this week and says she won't work too much more before school ends. She also said next year she may just work until the Christmas holiday and then quit. She will be 80 in November, so I think it's time she stopped working so much and so hard. That job really wears her out.

Thomas had to work in the rain again today (he did yesterday as well). Seems some landscape companies don't care if it's raining or not. If my boy gets struck by lightning during a storm when they're working, that place is going to hear from me!

So glad you like the new hair stylist and hope you will keep liking her work. I know it makes a HUGE difference when you get a good haircut and style. I find my head feels really good when I do...does that make sense to you?

Sassi just jumped on my shoulder and is watching the computer screen while I type. I swear she looks mesmerized sometimes when she's watching it. Well, just had to put Sassi on the floor since she decided to nibble, then swat my face. Little Stinker hasn't learned what "NO, DAMMIT!" means yet.

That year and a half before Zack gets his license is going to go by very quickly. Before everyone knows it, he's going to be asking to borrow the car practically every night of the week. But, it will be great that he can help taking everyone to/from practices and games.

Food Lion had whole chicken breasts on sale today, so I got a pack for dinner tonight. This time I'm going to make those scalloped potatoes I had promised Christopher on Monday, and I'm going to have the leftover cornbread dressing and gravy. While I was in Food Lion, I saw that Butterball makes hotdogs now, so I may get some tomorrow night for dinner. We don't have them often; but, when we do, they are always good.

Please wish Will a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY from me. I hope he's had a great day. I remember when my boys turned 13. It was as though an alien entity entered their bodies because they seemed to change overnight. Hope he'll have a fun party Saturday evening.

Well, I'm going to go turn the oven off and get the chicken breasts in. Hope you are all doing well and will have a great evening. Take care.

Good Thursday Hot Pink....There's such a difference in today and yesterday at this time. I think it's suppose to be nice for several days. Guess with the soccer playoffs going on, that'll be good.

It'd be nice if your mom is able to leave next year. I know it has to be hard on her at her age. Sometimes I come home so tired I can't go another step. I wish her the best if that's what she does.

I got groceries after work and as soon as I came in, my husband said someone had to pick up Matthew, so off I went again. He was on the deck and I had it open just a bit saying something and Cracker flew out like a shot. He said he'd watch her and she was back in when I got home. I got a roasted chicken for dinner so it should be enough for him tomorrow night also. We're having some type of chicken at school tomorrow, bigger than popcorn chicken, and it is covered with Texas Pete. We've had it once before and the kids liked it, believe it or not. I'll probably eat that.

Wendy just called and said the party Saturday is going to have to be moved around since Will's coach moved his soccer game to Saturday night. It's either Friday evening or Sunday afternoon. Nothing like waiting till the last minute, right?

Talking about Sassi looking at the computer screen, I've seen Cracker sitting in front of the tv watching it, especially if there's a cat on. You have to wonder what goes on in their minds.

Need to check my emails. I'm sure I don't have anything like you get. Talk later.

Hi, lynnw - Let's try this again. I told Thomas when he borrowed my computer for the second time today NOT to mess up the screen I was typing this post on. So, of course, he DELETES the entire window. Just once, I wish someone in my family would do something I ask them to do (or not to do)!!!!

It was a lovely day, not too hot, not too chilly; though, with the sun going down, so are the temps. The kids are out front playing hide and seek with their dad while their laundry gets done. So, I'm sure their yelling will be yet another thing my nosy neighbor will be complaining about. I have never known anyone who is so crabby and such a chronic complainer as her. Heaven forbid that anyone should actually happy when she's around. Oh, well.

I'm not sure if my mom will actually quit working at the end of the year. Even though the work is hard, she enjoys working with the ladies who have become her friends. And, I think she enjoys having a reason to get up in the mornings. So, we shall see.

Hope Wendy picks a day this weekend that suits everyone for the party. Guess it can be difficult scheduling things around all of the soccer games.

I'm going to have to make Thomas start paying me something for letting him do his laundry here. A couple of months ago, my water bill was $15 more than it normally is, and the detergent and dryer sheets don't last as long as they normally would either.

Think we're going to go get Chinese for dinner. Haven't had it in a while, and we're going to go to a different one tonight. I like to experiment and it will be nice going to another one for a change.

Hope you are all doing well and will have a great night. Take care.

Hi Hot Pink...Friday at last. We got off at 12:45. The 3,4,and 5th grades had pizza in their rooms today to kick-off the end of grade testing that starts next week. So the lunch schedule got moved all around and we finished early.

The new lady got a call from central office today and they're transferring her to another school in the district, a high school, and moving that lady to our school. If you ask me, it's kind of late in the year for all that. She wasn't treated right and I hope things will go better for her over there. Granted, she could be kind of annoying and messed up some, but didn't deserve some of the treatment she got.

Cracker just ran outdoors so I'm hopeing he'll keep an eye on her for awhile. When we get off school, it's going to knock her completely off her schedule.

Isn't it bad living close to someone who complains all the time? She should know that children love playing and are going to make a certain amount of noise. Last year, the new couple that moved in across the road has kin folks in for 2 days and they had 3 little children and I commented how nice it was to see and hear kids around. Of course, my sister's grandkids are loud at times, I can hear them thru the woods. It's enjoyable to me. Oh well, it takes all kinds.

I don't blame you about the washing and use of detergent and softener. We have a well but I know on city water you're charged a fee for how much you use. Paying you something would be cheaper than going to the laundromat.

i'm going to try to get some cleaning done this afternoon. I'm kind of headachy, not bad, just annoying. I honestly believe sleeping with the fan blowing in my face is what causes it.

Hope your day is going good and see you later.

Happy Friday, lynnw - It's nice that you got off early today. I always liked getting off early when I worked. Bet the kids enjoyed being treated to pizza in their classrooms today. A good way to celebrate the end of testing. I'm surprised they transferred the new lady so late in the year. Maybe they want to see if she will work out well enough for next year. It's sad that she wasn't treated right and hope she will enjoy working at the other school.

It's really nice today, though my sinuses are clogged and I've got a bit of a headache as well and hope it doesn't turn into another migraine. We're heading to Walmart in a few to get a few things, and I'm going to check to see if they carry Advil Migraine tablets. It's new and I want to see if it works. If it does, it would be good to keep it handy since I can't afford my Imitrex now that I don't have prescription coverage anymore.

There are times I wish I had a well because it would save me over $50 a month. When you don't have to pay for water, it's hard to understand how expensive washing clothes can be.

From what I've heard about the neighbor who complains all the time, her husband left her for another woman, which is why she is so bitter. Sorry, but that doesn't wash with me since my ex left me for another woman while I was pregnant with Thomas. But, that certainly doesn't give me the right to complain all the time or stick my nose in other people's business. That is something I would never presume to do. Just hope she doesn't ever say anything to me about the kids (or anything else, for that matter) because I just might end up telling her what I and all of our neighbors really think of her.

We're getting ready to head on to Walmart. Want to get some hamburger meat for burgers tonight while we're out. I'll add some A-1 steak sauce to the hamburger meat, and make some fries to go with them.

Hope you were able to get your cleaning done. And, hope your headache will go away soon. Take care, and have a great efternoon and evening.

Be sure to let me know how the Advil migraine works. The Excedrin miagraine use to work well for me as well as for Amy, but they pulled it off the market a few months ago. I've been tempted to buy the Advil kind to keep on hand.

Hi Hot Pink...I'm very late posting. Seems like everytime I got ready to, something came up, or someone, then Zack's championship game was at 5 and I left at 4:30 to run an errand. He won this morning when his team played against Will's which I didn't go to, but he lost the one tonight. Anyway, it's over till fall. Of course he and Avery play baseball but I don't mind that as bad. I don't know why though.

We're having Wendy's chili and burgers for dinner. We were going out for Mother's Day but with the game and all,it just didn't work out. I got my fixings for the subs tomorrow. Thought someone might offer to help but no but that's ok. I probably didn't help my mother when the kids were growing up either.

Maybe that's why the lady's husband left her, because of her attitude. Someone like that can't be happy. You know what the old saying is, misery loves company.

Are you still going to your mom's tomorrow? I think I heard you say you were carrying a brocolli casserole. I will probably make a banana pudding in the morning. Will's party is tomorrow evening, I guess, and I won't have to worry about dinner. Did you get the Advil you wanted? I believe I'll get some to keep on hand. I thought by now that the Excerdin would have been back out. The only bad thing about them is if I should happen to take one during the night, I'd be awake the rest of the night, guess it was the caffine in it. The imitrex didn't do that. Odd.

I'm going to straighten up the kitchen once more. Hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day and see you tomorrow.
