    NICK HAS LOST ALL SCRUPLES

I find it offensive that the primary focus for Nick in his rejecting Phyllis momentarily is that she kept this crime from him. He seems totally unconcerned that he has been living with, married to, and supposedly loving a person who is capable of attempted murder, perhaps murder. The writers have completely lost perspective here. It is repulsive that Nick has lost his true sense of right and wrong. And that the writers are also trying to make Phyllis the focus of so many people's sympathy is bizarre in the extreme and proof positive that there is a buzz being created to favor Phyllis and prop up her redemption. The fact that she committed this crime many years ago should have nothing to do with the concept of cold case crimes. There are born again Christians who once committed serious crimes and they must still be responsible for the bad choices made. Phyllis is being made to look sympathetic and that troubles me.

I disagree. You can not lose what you never had.

Two posters are right!!!! Dickolas never had any scruples.

He wouldn't recognize a scruple if it bit him in the butt.

Exactly, all Nick has ever carried about is appearing to do the right thing. He is terrified of looking like the bad guy so he always tries to react the way he thinks will make him look good.

At first he figured the right thing was to disassociate himself from a would be killer but now with so many people rushing to help Phyllis I think he may decide that it will look better if her goes that route too and so he may well reconsider and be there for her.

he has no moral compass of his own at all it seems.

yep, he's a follower, not a leader. it's obvious, too, in looking at the difference between he and adam as businessmen. and he and vicky too. first-born and first-born son or not, i bet when vic kicks the bucket he won't actually want nick in the driver's seat of newman.

Nick doesn't have scruples! A man with scruples doesn't go out and have a full blown affair on his wife after they loose a child. Nick also has always looked the other way when Phyllis has done some horrible stuff to other people with her rag mag. IMO the both of them are low lifes and deserve each other.

Hopefully the next time Phyllis gets the urge to run over someone it will be him since he's full aware of what she's capable of and thinks the only bad think she did was keep it from him.

the poster didn't say s/he doesn't like the show and doesn't want to know what happens with the phyl angle of the show. all the mb snips about ff'ing and turning off the tv are not serious responses.

Nick may well be all Victor has left at Newman though. Victor's need for complete control of everything makes it close to impossible for him to work with anyone who has a mind of their own ( e.g., Vicki, Adam)

Nick has had his little moments of rebellion but mostly he is more willing to toe the Victor line than the other two are.
