Quote countryMomof4: I agree that she brings a lot of it on herself. However that could be traced back to the initial event or the illness that has traumatized her. For example: some women who are molested as children grow up with very poor or non existent self-esteem and unconsciously chose destructive habits or men because they believe they don't deserve better. I don't dis count that. But Sharon is not some poor little waif that has not got the resorces to get treatment for this problem. In fact she has gotten treatment. I am beginning to think it is an excuse more than anything. She uses it to garner sympathy. I have a theroy that she may think if she does something like this Adam might come riding to her rescue. Despite her protest I think Sharon views herself in the role of damsel in distress. When she want to gain the attention of a man she uses the situation to get him to become her hero and come riding in on their whute horse to save her. |

I read somewhere she was gonna have a brain tumor. This would explain alot if that's the case. Maybe this is how they're gonna reinvent Sharon. I'd love to see the old Sharon back and her and Nick get back together and raise Faith. They were so good together when Noah and cassie were little. |

It doesn't matter what resources you have if you don't realize that you need help or think that you don't need help, you don't seek it. Even if she is doing this "deliberately", it shows a very skewed way of viewing the world which to me is indicative of a deeper issue. We'll have to agree to disagree. I have a mentally ill brother and his illness most definitely influences the way I view these storylines. |

Sharon hasn't been Sharon fo ra long time, it was apparent for a long time. This isn't the Sharon we use to love. Also alot of it had to do with Cassie's death, Phyllis interfearing in her marriage, Nick cheating on her, Brad's death and countless other stuff. Lets face facts Sharon never had the support the way Phyllis had from Nikki and Victoria, they looked down on her. When she need Nick more he wasn't there and Adam played on her emotions. I'm glad the writers took a step back and we going to see what is wrong with Sharon. |

To me the whole point is that if she was thinking straight, she would know she had a problem. That's like saying that if you knew that water was boiling you wouldn't put your hand in it. Both are painfully obvious. But if you weren't thinking straight, or you didn't know the water was boiling there would be an entirely different outcome in either case. |

Its obvious to me that she is not happy. She is with Victor because they care about eachother and she didnt want to be alone. With everyone in her life happy and moving on she ran to the one person she knew would not turn her away. But that doesnt mean she is truly happy. Overhearing Nikki and Victor talk, as well as hearing Adam and Chelsea's big plans had reminded her that she is not where she wants to be and like before, her issues come flooding back. Last time, she started treatment but her life took a dark turn with "losing" Faith. That is where her stealing ended and her more pressing issues began. I am sure this time Sharon will get the help she needs even if she doesnt know today that she needs it. I cant wait to see SC rock this upcoming storyline and I am sure it will answer some of the OP's questions. |

Well obviously Phyllis wasn't thinking straight when she hit christine with her car yet she sure is never given the same excuses poor Sharon is.. Sharon knows she is stealing.. she knows she is making poor choices but she chooses to do nothing. |

I may be wrong but Sharon's stealing seemed different this time. |

Sharon has finally realized that Adam does love Chelsea and wants to marry her.She thought it was a joke and a way to get back at her for being with Victor. She couldn't believe that Adam could move on so quickly, and that left her without a man,so she moved on to Victor. She pretends to be happy because everyone told her that she and Victor wouldn't last. |

Sharon knows she is stealing.. she knows she is making poor choices but she chooses to do nothing. stealing a trinket vs trying to murder people????? No comparison. As for Phyllis not thinking straight, thats debatable. Her hatred for Christine to this day shows that she isnt willing to admit her faults either and they are way more dangerous. |
