I have seen them on twitter, I have read them in some of the magazines where Michelle is interviewed and I have also seen them try and attack her in public. That is what is really scary and I think that Phyllis fans have been cautious about this all over the place. Alot of this stuff is really out of balance and a whole lot of people have been complaining about it to the sponsors and the show. And a whole lot of people have been complaining about the fact that Phyllis has gotten away with every evil act she ever committed and many many viewers want the soap to mirror real life and that Phyllis not constantly be sainted but rather made to be responsible for her bad choices. Soaps aren't supposed to mirror real life, they are fantasy! You will be very disappointed if you are looking for your soap opera to be realistic, and it seems as if that is exactly what is going on. If you are looking for programming that is realistic try watching a documentary. Soaps have never been anywhere close to real life and that is the appeal for most soap viewers. In fact that is the entire point of the soap opera genre, to allow people to live in a fantasy land for an hour of their life and watch people and situations they will never experience in their day to day lives. Try not to be so judgemental and just enjoy the ride, it will make your soap opera experience a much more enjoyable one. Thanks for the unsolicited advice! I watch a soap for genuine drama and entertainment, neither of which is here if the show doesn't conform to moral laws of life. Many many viewers want to see Phyllis take responsibility for what she has done. There is no entertainment value for me or these many viewers who can't stand the character of Phyllis with her self-righteous, hypocritical, criminal and psychotic style, always getting a free pass and being sainted. Since I've been - like many - watching this soap most of my adult life, I would guess I, like those many others, know the difference between a documentary and a soap. There used to be many fun aspects to watching this soap which has been steadily going downhill for years now. Seeing criminals pay, happens to be one of those. If you truly have watched this show for a long time, then why is it such a surprise to you that criminals get away with stuff.....Tell me....do you still hate Victor Newman for locking his 1st wives BF in a cage in his basement? Was that not criminal behavior? and did he ever pay or it? my point is...this criminal behavior that you loathe so much as been happening from the beginning, so why does it all of sudden bother you? this is and always has been the way soaps are written, so I don't get the whole high moral compass being displayed here! |

Phyllis fans, Adam fans aren't automatically your inferior because they don't share your OPINION. Stop preaching to people and learn to respect others more and you'll get back what you send out. You can like who you like. I don't personally attack anyone. I am speaking to the issue of people who disagree going after others personally. You can have any opinion you like and I can express my op about that op but to go after someone personally as in, beyond the username, is sad indeed. I respect everyone's right to disagree as long as it is understood I can disagree strongly as well. When YOU address my opinion and make judgements about my personal character based on those opinions regarding soap characters and their fictional crimes you are attacking on a personal level. You show nothing but disrespect when you do that. That's an entitlement that people who feel pious and righteous in their opinions embrace and use to bludgeon others with because although you claim to respect other peoples opinions you really only respect the opinions of people who agree with you. |

It is gratifying to know there are people who see the line between right and wrong and don't derive pleasure out of seeing evil triumph over good..whether fantasy or reality. What a world we would live in if evil won out over right and justice. I don't find that the least bit 'entertaining.' Just consider how different life would be if child molestors, serial killers, rapists, psychotics, perverts held power or sway! A world where Sandusky got away with raping dozens and dozens of innocent boys... it is hardly entertaining to consider criminals getting a free pass because they have a charming side. Of for God's sake. Do you honestly believe that just because someone doesn't care if a fictional character goes without punishment on a fictional show that they would feel the same way in real life. NO wonder there's so much bickering and fighting hope you don't drown the next time it rains. What I honestly believe is that while most posters are decent and fun to post with, some posters here who pretend not to take the soap seriously are some of the most malicious people I've ever encountered who personally go after others and try to hurt them personally just because they disagree with who they like fictionally on a soap board. And I definitely believe that speaks volumes about the mindset about these issues on a so-called fantasy soap. you know..why don't ya stop beatin around the bush and just name names...your attempt at the back handed comment is ridiculous! I know exactly who you are referring to and it's BS that you would go there! |

At no time, and I do believe you know this, have I ever personally attacked you. It is legitimate in any debate to strongly express ops about characters and storylines that others may like or support without making it personal. I express my ops that differ from your ops but I don't judge you or anyone else. If you take something I say personally, I'm not responsible for how you interpret what I say. I am in no way pious or righteous, two adjectives which definitely are a personal attack of someone you don't know personally but I will definitely stand up for the moral high ground. If supporting a moral position is worthy of your contempt, that is unfortunate. You are entitled to say and do and think whatever way you choose. Seems this cuts both ways. There are many posters who hate and judge Sharon and come at Sharon fans just as strongly with their anti-Sharon, anti-Shick positions. It is part of what happens when people come from different views. |
