Anderson Cooper came out of the closet announcing he is, and has been for a long time, Gay. Has no regrets and happy with his life. I've always like the "soft side/humanitarian side" of his special reporting on CNN. Quite the good looking man too.

I knew he was... I think he is a Vanderbilt also... I love Anderson Cooper.

Don Lemon of MSNBC came out last year... They'd make a cute couple!

This is old news, but I guess its the first time he made a public announcement about it. I love Anderson, and his mother is Gloria Vanderbilt.

I just love Anderson Cooper. He is Gloria Vanderbuilt's son! He actually came out last year at a posh party in LA. Maybe he is just telling a different group now but his being gay is old news. Kelly Rippa made reference to him being gay last year when the party was held. He was a tremendous help to those people down in New Orleans after Hurrican Katrina and his "Keeping Them Honest" show is one of the best. We love Anderson Cooper!!!!

It's too bad that one would even have to announce something like that. Maybe he got sick of other people speaking for him about his sexuality. Hopefully someday people will be able to just be people and won't have to make declarations or identify as a certain group to satisfy other peoples curiosity. You don't see straight people going "I'm heterosexual!" and gay people shouldn't have to feel like it is necessary to tell the world they are homosexual. What goes on in his personal life isn't anyone's business but his own, just like a straight persons personal life isn't anyone else's business either.

He's a great role model. Too often, the people that speak out or who are the most vocal are a poor representation of the community. I admire his decision to come out. I wish him well.

Why do they feel the need to make a big announcement? Are they so vain they think everbody cares about their personal life?
