Quote Pauls: Quote lisa diane: with everything going on with Paul right now I remember him actually having an office with a secretary I miss seeing him in his office. do you have anything that comes to mind from the ole days in GC that can bring us back some memories from the past. Yes, I loved these SLs. Remember Paul's secretary, Lynn? She was so nice. Those were the days that great SLs were created. Now all that's written is nasty, vile, psychotic, sick, twisted, awful SLs with no romance, friendships that are meaningful, or an ounce of realism to them. There's no joy on this soap any longer. The only time people are happy is when someone survives a murder or kidnapping, or someone is having sex in a dumpster or on a desk, or when a couple of manipulating psychos team up to stick to an innocent person. The show really is at its lowest point in the history of the show, IMO. Oh I had totally forgotten about Lynn. She was sweet but it was sad. She had a crush on Paul but he never noticed her in that way. Didn't pauls mom keep trying to fix paul and Lynn up together too? |

I miss the good ole days too. They had certain sets for the homes and offices that they showed almost every episode. They checked in with just about every character everyday so every viewer could see their favorites. The show was familar like checking in with an old friend. Now it's unrecognizable. I still like some storylines and look forward to a few minutes of my soap with lunch or after kids are in bed, but it's not like the good old days. I liked when they had more emphasis on all the core families like Fosters, Prentiss', Brooks, Chancellors, and then Abbotts and Newmans later. Now all we have left are a few Abbotts and Newmans. In the Bill Bell days the writers stayed more true to who a character was and they did not make them all act outside of their normal core personalities which made it believable. The stories were not as quick and choppy or cut off or dead-ended, and the characters did not act like their bodies were possessed by aliens. They should hire writers who remember 1970s and 80s daytime soaps, and nighttime soaps like Dallas, Dynasty, Knotts Landing, etc. |

They used to have a hospital set and drama going on there because of that. The hospital was another main set just like the core families homes and the Colinade Room. It's so long ago I have forgotten but didn't the Brooks or Prentiss family run the local newspaper? I think Lance was a big Y&R heartthrob character and then he later ended up playing Eric on B&B when he was older. I remember one of the Brooks girls climbing out of a window with a billowy wedding dress on, leaving Victor at the altar. I kind of liked that. And I remember that Nikki was married to a Foster (Greg) & got hooked up with a Madame, thinking she was going on a modeling job when the guy expected sex. He died in the hotel room with her. I always figured that was why she helped Sharon out when she hit Cameron over the head with the champagne bottle & thought she had killed him. |
