another good memory is when John was living and he'd go home from the office and Mammie comes out from the kitchen.

Yes, I loved these SLs. Remember Paul's secretary, Lynn? She was so nice. Those were the days that great SLs were created. Now all that's written is nasty, vile, psychotic, sick, twisted, awful SLs with no romance, friendships that are meaningful, or an ounce of realism to them. There's no joy on this soap any longer. The only time people are happy is when someone survives a murder or kidnapping, or someone is having sex in a dumpster or on a desk, or when a couple of manipulating psychos team up to stick to an innocent person. The show really is at its lowest point in the history of the show, IMO.

ok, scratch that. How about Dru working so hard to learn to read, speak correctly, and become a ballerina & Parisian model after being a tough little girl living on the streets?

Oh my god those were the days,

I will start a list and everyone fills in my blanks.

    1. the Abbots sitting at the table, and Mamie brings in a Plate of????

2 Remember how Col. Austin was the ONLY one who could keep Victor under control?

    3. Miguel raised Nick and Victoria single handed...way to go man!!!!

and the Colonade Room...will we ever forget that?

Both are good Blue, those are the good ole days..

Paul...you are right back then we had adventure but it wasn't nasty and all evil we had some good romances and especially in the summer, Summer romances I loved them. I wish we had the old soap back, and the ratings were better then , so more murders, more nasty, more sex twisted story lines may not be the route for them to take bc viewers are getting frustrated with it.

I remember the parties that Mrs. C. use to give, the cat fights between Mrs. C. and Jill, all the stuff Jill use to pull. The Foster family along with the Brooks family. Leslie Brooks played the piano so nice and her teacher always encouraged her. Col. Austin and Victor's games. Vanessa Prentiss and her veil. Laura Prentiss as a writer going after Victor. Julia and Micheal falling in love then Victor taking revenge on Micheal. The Colanade Room evenings. Rose and her evil ways.Mary Williams and her cooking for Paul. His secretary Lynn and he actually did have an office. John Abbott and the whole family . Just some things I think back on.

Those were the days....back when Y&R was actually written by someone who had talent and cared about the characters and the viewers - not scribbled out by a bunch of psychotic, mysogynistic hacks who couldn't write their way out of a paper bag.

The slow build up of a relationship, the intensity of the acting - it was so nice to see things the actors could get their teeth into and be proud to be involved with. I don't see how any of them can say their lines now with a straight face. Bet inside they're rolling their eyes and thinking "this is a bunch of CRAP".

I also agree I miss the parties and the fancy dress up affairs. Does anyone remember Gina singing?

Even when someone had an affair on the show it was ONE couple - not the whole blasted town jumping each others bones. The show is so sleazy now it's just about a half step above porn.
