I'm happy for Christel Khalil. She's a very good actress and deserved to win. I'd like to see her have a good storyline.

She does a great job with what little she gets to work. She needs to go to work with Devon or something. They both need more screen time in my opinion.

And to be honest, she is the first African-American woman to win a Daytime Emmy and all I can say is, it's about time. I love the role of Lily Winters Ashby and I love how CK brings the character to life. With her win she can now show all young ladies of color that anything is possible all you have to do is work hard, believe in yourself and you can achieve anything you put your mind too. me but,CK is NOT AA! She is multiracial. Primarily Middle
Eastern(her father). Her mother is AA among other ethnicit-
ies. It's my understanding that CK does NOT even con-
sider herself AA/black.

As for CK being the FIRST AA woman or woman of color to
win a Daytime Emmy? NO,she isn't! THAT distinction belongs
to her fellow castmate,Debbi Morgan. DM won the Emmy,
for Outstanding Supporting Actress(she tied with NLG),in
1989. In doing so,she became the FIRST woman of color to
win an Emmmy,in a MAJOR category!

Just sayin'.
