Y&R did not have a good showing at the Emmys.

I would like for posters to give their reasons why they think Y and R did so poorly this year.

I agree that it is poor plots.

But I think that the excess of Phyllis and Victor have contributed to the problems; other characters need to be showcased too.

I dont watch general hospital so I cant judge their writing team but general hospital alway win emmys I feel bad for y& r tonite

The writing has never been WORSE. I will never forgive them for first breaking up Shick, now Shadam. I'm going to stop watching altogether bc there is no payoff. It's just painful to watch. Adam and Chelsea are an enormous BORE; PHyllis never has to really pay for her crimes. Sharon isnt' even the same character. She NEVER would have slept with Victor imo. It's just a shame. Eden is so dull I was bummed Ricky didn't kill her and why do they ax the villains? Ricky was at least interesting like Adam was in the beginning. Avery and Phyllis were far more intriguing as sparring sisters but they made them soft and predictable. Really, why watch? It's just mundane, and rote. Too bad. Someone really dropped the s/ls. Some of them had potential. Really miss Shadam and can't believe we have no villain. And get Jack outta that chair already. The only halfway interesting thing that happened was Carmine loading Chloe into the trunk of his car like a suitcase. That was both shocking and comical.

It is very clear that the Bell's were not batting a thousand tonight, that is for sure. If we didn't know that B&B and Y&R were truly daytime soaps, we surely wouldn't have known it by watching this Emmy show. They were snubbed big time tonight! That was very obvious. Then to see at the close MAB talking about how hard it is to bang out five days worth of shows a week, well, that pretty much said it all.

The Bell's were snubbed tonight and they made no secret of it. I think that it is because of the writing and the way they are treating thier cast members behind the scenes. It is nothing new that GH would walk away with the awards because they always have but with the Bell's taking over the two shows, it was expected of them to be more progressive and to continue to write great daytime drama. They have cheapened thier shows but not respecting thier history and proressing them into the future. Both shows are not just about bad writing but an extreme lack of creative vision into the future. It is a shame because they have the best talent in the business, they just can't write for them and they have no vision of where they want thier shows to go.
