    What was the point of the Victor/Sharon pairing?

    Which is why I don't get why the Phick vs. Shick saga exists. I was over Phick after Paris, most Shick fans I know were done after New Orleans. There is nothing left for either of these couples. I hate how they have made Nick some wonderful prize, he sucked for cheating on Sharon, he sucked for cheating on Phyllis yet he never catches any of the blame

    I know a lot of people will disagree with me but....I think it was to bring out the true Sharon. Sharon has never been the sweet kind woman she is praised as being. I think finally putting her with the Newman patriarch was a dream come true for her. She now feels she has the "power" and can do and speak however she pleases. She loves her position right now, that showed during her inappropriate wedding crashing. And that attitude turned Vic on even more.

    ITA...now that she is standing on the top rung of the Newman ladder she has been climbing for years the sweet and innocent act has disappeared. She is finally showing her true colors and prancing all over town to show them off.

    I started watching the show regularly about 5 years ago so I don't know the Sharon so many proclaim to be so sweet, innocent, and without guile. I think many are holding onto character's past personalities instead of just accepting who the characters are as written now. People grow and change through the years sometimes they change for the better and sometimes they change for the worse.

    How this specific actor gets what he wants is ridiculous IMO. He isn't really needed anymore to me, but that is my opinion.

    Whatever the reason, it was a disgusting, repulsive storyline. I haven't watched faithfully since this whole debacle started & won't until it is rectified.


    According to one source (not very reliable, IMO) EB wanted the pairing, but not sure how true that is. The writers clearly hate the Sharon character, so SC's opinion just don't matter to this regime (think about all the Sharon hate in the past 2-3 years... . To me, this is just the lastest, yet most revolting, "plots" in a long, long, long line of storyline hatchet jobs on the character Sharon.

    We all know Victor doesn't love Sharon romantically and she doesn't love him; they have ALWAYS had a father-daughter type relationship. The writers know that Nikki and Victor are each's other true loves (love 'em or hate 'em, they are the show's reigning super couple), and they KNOW fans deplored this storyline idea when they tested it earlier this year. So there is NO purpose to this repugnant, incestuous and degrading storyline other than to humiliate and degrade Sharon even further. I keep reading that's what Hogan Sheffer's specialty is with blonde female characters from his other soaps. At the end of Sh-ICK!-tor abomination, Victor will be his usual self with no repercussions; but Sharon will still be the town pariah and insulted even more. Victor wins, and Sharon continues to lose...what's the purpose?? Where is all the character insult and loathing for VICTOR, who's sleeping with the ex-wife of two of his sons and the mother of his grandchildren?! Why is Sharon, again, taking all the attacks alone??

    I think the writers know Sharon has always had a lot of fans from the start of her character, but this writing regime clearly doesn't care for her so they are making her unrecognizable just for kicks. It's sadistic to me.

    Also these hacks do seem to have some sort of agenda that involves destroying the Sharon character, and the shictor pairing works well for that goal too.

    Or, maybe EB agreed to take a cut in pay if they fixed it so an attractive younger actress was forced to rub up against him some.


    That's one of the rumors circulating around.

    I think part of it involves what happens on the show today with the catfight between Sharon and Nikki. Both are absolutely disgraceful. But to be in a brawl over that shriveled up old pruneface is just senseless.

    I'm actually thinking it was done to put a final nail in the Shick coffin, because with Phyllis's upcoming problems I think the Shick shippers are getting all excited about a possible redux between them, which might be precipitated if Phick hit the skids, but I actually don't anticipate that happening. But even if it does, I just can't see Nick defaulting back to Sharon after Victor has pulled out of her. He absolutely loathed Diane afte she got involved with Victor after they'd been together(though why it only bothered him after he'd used her doesn't make much sense because she was previously Nick's stepmother.) Now that I wrote that out, both Nick and Sharon have bedded their former respective in-law parental figures. So...I guess they're even. Hmm, maybe there is hope for Shick yet. What a couple of loathsome losers they are. Maybe they do deserve to be together - for as long as that lasts.

    Funny how Phick lovers got over Nick sleeping with Phyllis' sister Avery in no time flat. Nothing will be any different when (not if) Nick goes back to Sharon. The protests of how bad Nick treated Phyllis before died off pretty quick once there was a chance for them to reunite (read: Shadam happened). Nick didn't seem to mind Sharon sleeping with his brother over and over again, even AFTER she knew what he had done. Lol...all in due time. Shick is on hold, not dead.

    Have they actually slept to-gether???
    I think we're supposed to still guessing about that. Thankfully we haven't seen it and I don't think they have said it.

    I don't know about the EB thing. I remember reading that when the Sabrina/Victor pairing was first discussed he was against it because of the age. He did become fond of the actress though and was sorry she was let go.
    On the contrary...I think the writers love the Sharon character. Here they have someone they can zap into different personalities anytime the mood strikes for a different story. They can't seem to settle on who she really is.
