    this news makes me so sad. I really like Ashley- I hope at least if they are just recasting this then they bring in someone like Emily or Lilly from As the world turns to fill this role. they were good actress on those shows. I just don't get what the writers or head honchos at Y/R are thinking...get rid of the Edens, Harmony and Sophia they are all 3 so boring to watch. I'd even throw in a Lilly she also is boring. Best of luck to you ED..you will be missed!

    i looked it up the ashley abbott been recast twice
    while eileen davidson had been gone and off of the show -eileen davidson left in 1988
    was recast with breada epperson shes played ashley abbott from 1988-1995 i like hers cause shes lookes alike
    eileen davidson then breada epperson left in 1995 and shes was replace by shari shattuck in 1996 to 1999 then elieen davidson return back in 1999 unlit 2012-

    Thanks Lucy.Thats exactly whatI was trying to say before.We might now like it,and believe me,I don't,but you wouldnt let a 'core' character go for no reason.I'm waiting in the wings to see if we get a recast or death.



    She has been in contract negotiations and they didn't like what she wanted so they let her go. Something to do with money I heard.
    Thanks Lady.Where did you read this,can I ask?Money...isnt it always about the money.Sheese I figured it had to be something.She's been around forever on this show.Bottom line is....ya can't always get what you want. (if thats what it turns out to be)

    we made not know what really happen or what goes on behind the iron curtain but the actress dont negotiate there contract with the show they have there agent or business manager do for them, the actor goes to there manager or agent and they go to the head person on the show to negotiate there contract the actress isnt invovle in it only there manager sometimes there manager will play hard ball with the show to get what they want for there client and thats probable what happen if they dont the manager will say then will walk and they show wouldnt give in to her what hers manager was asking for his client so they ax hers from the show but thats how it work in the business.

    ITA and she's leaving.

    They really messed up the Tucker s/l Wonder if Abey is leaving too....she serves no purpose.

    Unbelievable that they are letting Eileen Davidson go. Such a great actress! Get rid of some of the dead wood, and leave the ones we all love alone. Nobody will play that part as well as ED did. This goes right up there with killing off Brad and Colleen...stupid stupid stupid!

    I wondered if the present Ashley/Tucker s/l was planned as a way for Eileen Davidson to be written out.Ashley will divorce Tucker and leave Genoa City.

    Could be. Who knows with this show? It will certainly be interesting to see what spin they put on this. If it was about a salary dispute it seems like Eileen would have said so.

    I will say that she is far from my favorite on the show but I realize that most people may not agree with me. The thing is, the next time it could be my favorite of yours. It just seems a poor way to handle business.
