Quote beachgirl02840: I love the actress. I don't even mind Harmony so much but I think I am reacting more to Neil in this story line. He used to be this upstanding guy a long time ago...lol...and now he is essentially a dog. He is turning into a nasty bit of business. |

My criticism of "Harmony",has NOTHING to do with DM's |

Quote DeepnThought: My criticism of "Harmony",has NOTHING to do with DM's acting ability.(*rolls eyes*) Her performances are just OVER-the-TOP and TOO MUCH. (And the characterization as written by the writers, namely,MAB,is just INSULTING!) Again,it has NOTHING to do with DM's acting, per se. She's a very good actress, who's work I,normally, enjoy. Whether she's playing Angie Hubbard, earth mother. Or Lynette,(on Soul Food)a wayward, irresponsible mother, who acted like she NEVER went to school. And never grew up. Even Lynette didn't offend me as much as Harmony DOES! And that's saying A LOT! That said, just because an actor is good or even GREAT, generally speaking, doesn't mean that he or she can't help to create a STINKER of a character,or just do a poor job of portraying a character, period. Heck, even SIR Anthony Hopkins, was criticized by film critics, for being miscast as a black man, passing for white,in the movie THE HUMAN STAIN. role. And this is SIR Anthony Hopkins we're talking about! So,if HE can be criticized for not being right for a part, why can't DM? Daytime Emmy Winner or not? Just saying. p.s. For the record,I hope and believe that DM will(and should win)the Emmy, this year, for her role as Angie Hubbard,on All My Children. But,as for playing Harmony? NO WAY! JMO. LOL - Wow! But all kidding aside, I understand what you are saying about DM's portrayal of Harmony. But to even mention Anthony Hopkins (I love him!) I just feel like the constant hate I read in relation to the character of Harmony and the comments about Harmony's actions shows DM's strength as an actor. (Someone mentioned Harmony makes their skin crawl) Yes, the constant angst is a compliment to DM as an actor is all. And yes, DM definitely should be mentioned if not win an Emmy for her portrayal of Angie going blind on AMC. Again, I say DM once again is "Emmy-Bound" eh! Happy posting! |

Quote ATA3: I adore Debbie Morgan and I think she is doing a fantastic job! She is playing an ex druggie from the streets, what more do you people want? All people have to say is they can't stand the way she talks and her wig. DM is one of the best actresses in daytime and I doubt anybody who makes fun of her acting abilities couldn't do it half as good as her. No, make that 1/4. Hate is not a good look. |

Quote KC11: Harmony haters, you do realize that actors are given a role and asked to deliver? Well, Debbie has delivered Harmony 10x over! It appears she is acting her behind off! Is there a more disliked character on Y n R? I love seeing Harmony and Neil on the screen together! There is such an attraction between Harmony and Neil. I wish I could see a bit more of Sarge on screen with Harmony but I'm sure that time will come soon! Some character's you just love to hate and it appears Harmony has a lot of Y n R viewers up in arms and for the right reasons. No one loves an addict. But remember it's a script! Debbie Morgan you're the real deal as always! To the Emmy's we go woman!!! |

Why can't an actor be good, generally speaking, but not always right for a particular role? Nothing,as far as I can see. reasons, doesn't prove that she's doing a good job. Far from it,imo.(*frowns*) |

(see the area boxed in above) You said that you didn't wish to criticize DM's acting yet that is exactly what you did. You exclaimed that DM's performance was "over the top" and DM was "over-acting the role". lol No worries, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I just believe when there is such a strong reaction towards one actor and the actor is staying true to the script that alone screams "Brava"! Again this is just my opinion is all! Happy Posting! |
