Quote Laduree: Hey gals! I've been lurking on this thread for awhile. A little background: I'm a huge Adam fan, first and foremost, and I could watch him opposite a lamppost. I started out shipping Shadam, even though I have never been a fan of Sharon's apart from Adam. After she dumped him blind, and alone, I couldn't stand her. Then he met Chelsea. I really started liking Chadam at that point. When Chadam imploded, and Adam seemingly gravitated back to Sharon, I thought I would give it one last go, but my heart just wasn't in it. If I'm being perfectly honest, I don't care for Sharon any longer, and just see her as a total loon.
I hated on Chels for awhile because of what she's doing to Adam, but I can't deny the chemistry and the passion they bring to the screen. They are amazing together, and when they share scenes, everyone else just fades to the background. Anyway, I thought I would wade into the Chadam thread and show my support. I will never be able to get behind Shadam again. I. Just. Can't.
I do see a lot of positive signs leaning toward a Chadam reunion. Chylan appears to be total angst for Chadam. He's two degrees warmer than a reptile, and dumber than a box of hair. I can't imagine MCE being jazzed about this pairing. Chylan just sucks all the oxygen out of the room. She lights up opposite MM, so I'm very happy they will share a baby together, thereby keeping them anchored to each other permanently. No matter what happens, the potential will always be there.
I used to like Shadam too, which was more about the forgiveness story and seeing them bond over that than it was about their chemistry. I lost interest when Sharon dumped him after Kansas, and after Chelsea approached him at the bar while he was blind I fell for them as a potential couple immediately and then it got better from there.
I now look back as Shadam with more distaste.
A while back a Shadam fan started a thread on the main board regarding why people preferred Chelsea with Adam. I posted one of my typical long replies giving reasons. The one that started the thread thanked me, which was pleasant. However, the one that started the thread really approached the original posted question in an insulting way. The one that started that thread did not really understand why people could prefer Chelsea with Adam and thought Chadam fans were just a bunch of anti-Shadam people. The poster also made comments regarding Chelsea being happier with Dylan, which many of us do not buy into that. Even in the reply to the long answer that I gave, the poster had not heard of a Shadam supporter becoming a Chadam supporter, which actually there are a number of Shadam supporters who have become Chadam supporters.
I like Chadam for both halves of it both liking the couple and individual characters, although I have not been crazy with some of the writing for Chelsea within the Chylan pairing.
Welcome to the Chadam Fan Thread.
Thanks cdhg! I also got so sick of hearing how Adam was tarnishing poor Sharon. She could do no wrong, and he could do no right. Whatever faults she had, were ALL on Adam. I didn't mind him helping her the night she decided to turn the ranch into a candelabra, but he was nuts for moving her onto his property.
Chadam are soul mates. She's a con, and he's a con. It's what they do. She's more of a street smart con, and he's more a con in the boardroom, but it's just another reason why they are perfect for each other.
Along with many others, I'm tired of this endless baby sl with little to no movement. We got a couple of ripples in the water over the last few days, but those ripples should increase and turn into waves very soon. They dragged it out way too long IMO.
One thing they could have done a better job of is Chelsea's behavior throughout. I get that they are trying to show that she's completely invested in the con, and they clearly want to make Dylan's fall epic when he learns the truth, but Chelsea didn't just fall out of love with Adam overnight. She was still trying to find out if there was any hope for the two of them as late as the fortune teller shenanigans. She was desperately in love with him while he was in the hospital when she tearfully told Vikki that she had lost him forever. So all of this gushing over Dylan, and completely excluding Adam from her thoughts is nonsense. It would have been nice to see her a little more torn. I'm writing a fanfic right now, and that's what I'm showing- a true triangle, with her trying to move on with Numbnuts, but finding that she can't get the love of her life out of her heart or her head.
We know where Adam stands- he's in love with her, and has literally turned into an emotionless, empty vessel. He may be angry when he confirms what he already suspects, but I think he'll be so happy to have a child, and he loves her so much, he won't be able to maintain his anger.
