Quote Ari1: I many ways what Sharon is doing to her kids right now in order to be with Nick as the same thing she did to Faith in order to be with Adam. What kind of mother would hurt Noah and Faith by tearing their lives apart so she can feel loved. When she couldn't have Nick in the past she had to have Adam which caused her to lose her daughter. She never once considered how her daughter might feel when she was older and learned her mom chose to be with her kidnapper instead of her. Now she thinks it's ok to hurt Noah and Faith and Summer so she can have a man in her life. I bring this up bc I don't see Adam or Chelsea ever doing something like this. I see them being fiercely protective parents. Now that Adam has a child of his own I don't think he will ever look at Sharon in the same way. He and Chelsea wanted the Norman Rockwell family and Sharon doesn't fit into that painting.
Of course, Nick's decision was wrong too, with the possibility of affecting so many people. Assuming the second paternity test was accurate before Sharon changed it, Sharon is taking a sister away from Noah and Faith, while keeping a potential couple apart in Kyle and Summer. She is also making Jack believe he is a father, and causing Nick a lot of grief. Then add the grief she is causing Summer and not to mention others.
The parallel here between Chadam and Shick here is this. Nick emotionally and eventually physically abandoned Sharon after Cassie's death. Besides Faith's paternity lie, Sharon is doing something that is hurting Nick regarding a paternity issue, trying to win him back. This will backfire.
Adam abandoned Chelsea in a similar way. Now, Chelsea is lying about the paternity. Adam is hurt over the situation, which Chelsea is not trying to intentionally hurt Adam but is afraid of losing the baby. She is not trying to win Adam back. What she is attempting regarding Dylan will backfire. However, her and Adam will end up together. Still, Chelsea is not realizing the effects of the lie.
In some ways, Dylan is like Nick regarding wanting something to be his, without questioning the truth of the matter.
The bad thing for Adam and especially for Chelsea they do not have some built in mental excuse or tragic excuse as the others. With Dylan and Sharon we have the PTSD and Bi-Polar card and Nick we have the loss of Cassie card.
