Yes, I think so too. When I make borscht, I always put a lot of beets in it. I think they contain one of the blue pigments that is so good for you.

Quote Blue 501: I thought I heard a whisper on the wind that sounded like "See's Candy". You know how we love to share treats here. I want a bite (or two) before "you know who" finds out they are here. If GL Fan wants some, she needs to hurry. There are a couple of severe chocoholics who hang out here.
Oh joy! See's candies. I order them every Christmas for everyone I know. (and several pounds for my self, of course) One of fifty reasons why I miss Los Angeles: there is a See's on every corner.
It is expensive to order them if you live in the South b/c if it's warm weather you have to pay for refrigerated shipping.
Tell me about it! That's why I wait til winter. They have special "summer" candies, but I WANT CHOCOLATES!! Swiss Colony makes some awesome truffles, but again, I wait til cooler weather.

Quote Wombat_InTheBurrow: I'm feeling a bit sad. My youngest grandchild Morgan is having her 2nd birthday party in a week, and it's been decided that I shouldn't go. There will be 20 children there and at least one is bound to have something germy going on,
If I wore a mask it may be upsetting to the kids, and somehow I don't think I want the 'C' word clouding her party.
If it were up to me I would take the risk, but it would freak my daughter out. Her father died from a chest infection he picked up while on chemo.
They live in a cul-de-sac, and as the neighbours are all going, they will close off the street. There will be a Petting Zoo and pony rides...waaaaah.
They have promised me a video....which they may or may not remember to give me.
im for you that you cant go.even though it sounds good to go and who cares about getting sick you have to think of yourself and get better.well thats what they always say to me when i did chemo.so im passing it one to you.when you get better and you will, you will have millions of days with Morgan.and by the way i love that name.so take care of yourself and go from there.not to be a not it all i just want to to get better for you anf everone that loves you.

Annal dear, that is such good advice - you are very wise for your age. You know you are loved here in the Kritter Club ♥. I baked a lot of Zucchini bread today, so am leaving a goodly amount to share. Bless us all.

Had some time out with Morgan yesterday. Mum wanted to re-organize her bank accounts, just in case she became worse. Bit of a production for us. My SIL Mark was there to push mum in her walker, and Leanne to look after Morgan. Sitting in the bank there were 4 generations in one room...that was lovely.
When my part of the bank thing was over, I went to grab some groceries. When I rejoined them at the coffee place, little Morgan smiled and said "Nana." How can one little word bring so much joy to me?
When we left, I was pushing Morgan and the groceries in a trolley. Leanne thought it may be a bit hard for me, so she took over. Uh uh...Morgan pushed her mum's hands off and pointed to me. Obviously nanas are very important for some things.

Doesn't one of you want to borrow a nice old lady for a few days? She is quite put out with me b/c she wants me 24/7 right now & I am having to spend so much time over in the pit cleaning. We are washing clothes & throwing away & I am sneezing my head off. Mama offered Valentin $3000 to help with his renovations if he won't make her move when I do. When that did not work, she asked him to find her another place to live because I hurt her feelings by not sitting down while she went through several shoe boxes of costume jewelry telling what she could remember about each piece. Most of it looks like stuff out of a gum machine. She can no longer tell the difference between her good jewelry and the piles of junk she accumulated over the years & she does not remember where it came from. Some of the stuff she swears was mine but I do not remember it & I have all the "treasures" from my childhood in my own little box (just one.lol) And I just don't have time right now & she is shredding my nerves when I do have time for her. Every day Valentin comes home & looks to see how much progress I have made on the other house & yells at me. Mama says "Valentin has always been so sweet that I know HE loves me". (What she does not know is that while he IS always sweet to her, he started taking it out on me right after she moved in with us and she has been here 8 years now. Even Alex told her "Grandmother, he may be sweet to you but if he is disrespecting your daughter, he is disrespecting you". I promised her she would never have to go to a nursing home while I was able to take care of her but God, I wish I had somewhere to park her for just one week while I get this horrendous job done. We got back from grocery shopping in the blazing hot sun (3 stops so six exposures to the sun) and when we came dragging in the stuff & trying to get the frozen stuff stowed, she asked "Did you have fun?" I need to mow 2 acres this afternoon & have not even got to the other house to begin yet. I guess I will work on that tonight after I get dinner served and the dishes cleaned up. As they say, "this too shall pass" & the sooner I can finish the sooner it will be. Cable is out (again) so I don't have the distraction of t.v. Only the internet & I am about to get off. Sorry to whine.
