Quote Blue 501: Quote BoomerangWombat: Seing as I am too sick and sore to do any housework here, I thought of something else I could do to contribute. We have had to light so many candles for us all lately, that we ended up with a whole heap of candle stubs....so I said to myself, "Self, why not combine all these left over stubs and make a nice big Communal Candle that we could all share?" And Self replied, "Wombat, what a lovely thoughtful thing to do, with you being so sick and all. So I melted them down and started stirring. (Would have helped if everyone had stuck to white ones. It's on the windowsill...it's that psychedelic thing that resembles a psychotic gargoyle. Anyway, time for some more pain meds. Thank you for the colorful gift. I am sorry I have not been around today. My wireless router was out most of the day then V announced his ex-wife was coming at 3 so he can fix her car & to please clean up & cook something nice for dinner & btw, his son is coming too. First I heard of this was around 11 a.m. (It IS Father's Day & his birthday but I had planned to take him out to dinner. He vetoed that so I went & bought a couple pkgs of extra jumbo shrimp. I am not sure if they will stretch to feed two more extra jumbo guests though.) So, my back is killing me, I need a shower, & I had to go climb over all his junk in my garage to get to my freezer & found some boneless, skinless chicken breasts that are now thawing to make sure there will be enough food. I had better make a gallon of puree too (mashed po to most of your guys but Wombie may know what I mean). It would be wrong to say I hate my husband on his birthday, wouldn't it? But I do. BTW, if my car needs work, I take it to a garage & have it fixed, most of the time but she expects my husband to do all her auto work and her husband's too, when they are on good terms. For free. He worked 6 days this week & then went to the club to direct security until 4 a.m. Wouldn't it be terrible if my back went out & I had to go straight to bed? lol. Sorry for complaining.BTW I am going to be a grandmother. My daughter likes to talk to me now about every hour, unlike the past 32 years. She wanted to know if she should plan on coming to the beach week. She said it would cost around $700 to board her cats for a week. She makes $300 a week at her job. lol Blue, do you have agencies over there that do pet minding? They come in daily, feed the cats and do trays and such at a much lower cost? *Winking at Habby. |

Quote BoomerangWombat: I'm home! Well look who's back!!I'm so pleased to 'see' you,and to hear your great news.(check your email) What...no surprise party? Oh well...I'll just throw a pity party for me...oooh...2 bottles of Baileys from cyber to me...splendid! You are all invited but as there is a shortage of Baileys, please byo...oh...and a plate, with food on it! But seriously, thank you all for your prayers and thoughts...yes Cyber...they do help. I'm really a sore and sorry sight atm...but time heals all. Closest I can describe it as feeling like what they throw in the bin after filming a commercial for a new 'Slice And Dice Kitchen Essential.' They took a few samples from my lymph nodes to check...but I won't get those results until I see the surgeon in a couple of weeks....but apparently the nodes looked very good. I wouldn't have gotten out so early, 'cept I found the vent in the hospital room. The best I could find was Tweedledum and Tweedledumber to feed the horses while I was in hospital and when recovering at home. Tweedledumber (who actually picked me up at the hospital yesterday,)rings me this morning and says, "How did you go...did you get the horses fed?" They came out to do it, but I will be taking over the feeds again tomorrow...sigh! |

Quote Blue 501: This sounds so familiar. When our son was born, on a Friday, the whole family showed up on that Sunday for dinner. I had at least a dozen people to cook for. I think back on that now and wonder why I didn't tell them to go get a hamburger while I rested and then we could resume our visit a bit later. I was so sore and miserable that night that I couldn't stop crying,

She mentioned it as a possibility but MacGuire is brain damaged or something. No one would ever adopt him & my daughter was agreed to take him. He freaks if a stranger comes in. I told her I thought it was too far to drive down to NC from Philly & back in her present condtion but we will see. I am having to subsidize her heavily all ready & now I will be paying her obgyn expenses b/c she has no insurance. Sorry about all the whining. I am just very tired and My back IS killing me. I made salad, Jumbo shrimp, stir-fried pork with vegetables, and chicken breasts with portobello mushrooms, and a vat of rice. It was way too much b/c his ex brought a big bag of stuff too. They were very complimentary but next time I am giving a dinner party, I would like a little more warning. He told us he loved us both (does this man not understand that neither the old wife nor the new wife (if 11 years is new) want to hear that chit? Pleasant dreams to all. |

Showing up en masse was bad enough. They should at least have brought you food, not expected you to make some for them. My mother in law kept telling me "Well my pastor's wife had a C-section & she said it was a breeze". (probably an athletic, YOUNG girl. Quote grammylove: Congrats,Granny Blue! The Clubhouse has needed happy news for quite a while now. A baby on the way, & the Wombat is back - Woo-Hah! We are indeed blessed. Now if the rest of the Kritters who are suffering can get some good news too. Love you all. Now, for breakfast we have Costa Rican coffee with cream (the Baileys is already finished off-both big bottles-but I have a spot of cognac left from the party), Blinis with sour cream and cherry preserves, sala, smoked fish, and a big bowl of mixed fruit (kiwi, banana, peach, and blueberries). I was telling my daughter about Phyllis & Daisy (she never watches soaps) and now SHE is referring to her pregnancy as "my little blueberry". Noooooooo. She has been sick as a dog for several weeks though so hers is probably not going anywhere, and is probably a girl, which is what she wants. She says the baby had better be really pretty to make up for what she is doing to her mom. She has had confusing dreams about babies. I did too. That is how I knew I was pregnant & how I knew I would have a girl. She can't believe I never had an ultrasound but they were not that common 33 years ago unless you had a problem. (I had problems all right but not the kind you could solve with an ultrasound. I put myself on a very low sodium diet & kept the swelling down & stayed out of the hospital but I had had hypertension for ten years before the pregnancy so I knew what I had to do). |
