Quote Blue 501: Wonderful news!!!! Carmel is already out of the hospital. She says she is one sick, sore, bedraggled little wombat but she came thru it ok. They did not take the whole lung. It sounds like they took a section, plus a lot of lymph nodes to check for any mets. That is still quite a surgery but she says she came thru it ok. I think the drains are out. She says the animals are okay. She had hoped to get out in 5 days but she got out in 3. Woo Hoo!!!!! Don't look for her to post for a while. She needs to rest & regroup. I am so relieved tht she came thru it so well. God does answer prayers.
Good news, indeed. We ♥ our Wombat.

This is indeed a very good day, for several reasons. I hope it is also one for all of you kritters. I have things to do this morning but here is a pot of piping hot Kenyan coffee, Baileys & cream, cranberry-orange scones & Russian Caravan tea. See you later. (I had a big night on the ancestry boards, tied in the family of the doctor who saved my brother's life when he was a little boy-we were distant cousins-and met a very good researcher working on some of the same lines as I am & also a descendant on my Lee line. Probably about 6 generations removed but in my grid, that is "close" kin since I track them for centuries. Also, our family may get some wonderful/scarey news today.)

I'm sorry I am not up to date on everyone's activities. It's been stressful trying to get my mother's life in order and find her a new place to live. We may be lucky enough to get a room on the Alzheimer wing of a lovely retirement home. It has home cooked meals and a beautiful courtyard garden! YAY!!
Such good news about womby!!! Whew! She has had a very rough go.
Best of luck to all of those with health issues. All we can do is fight the fight and carry on.

Although I have been absent it does not mean I do not care or lack sypathetic feelings for those who are hurting.
Glad to hear that Wombat has made it through the surgery. I wish her the best as she goes down the road of recovery.
CM: I feel your pain. It is a situation we could never have anticipated but we do our best. I hope your mom is comfortable and as happy as she can be. Keep your strength up.

I am so pleased ti hear about Wombat. Glad the worst is over. They probably sent her home because she was 'borrowing' them out of house and home.

Lucy: For those of us who have been down the road, her recovery is far from over. The road is long and it is hard. But, hopefully, even though cybersupport is not hands on support, we hope it helps. I'm leaving 2 bottles of Baileys; 1 regular and 1 with mint. Cheers!

CM, I am praying so hard that you will get your mom in that place. I am in the same situation, and if nothing else, my mom is in a great place. They feed her well, and she is taken care of. Of course, I would rather take care of her myself, but it is okay. Praying for you love. So glad to hear your surgery was a success Wombat. I am praying for you daily, and prayers for the horses. I know that is alot of work, and hope you aren't stressing over them. It will all work together for good. As long as you take care of yourself, everything else will fall into place. Hope you get good news Blue, you sure deserve some wonderful things to happen to you today! I am praying! Going to help my daddy with his Loaves & Fihes route, the way they treated me when I worked there, well, let's just say, I will be sitting in the parking lot and Daddy will bring the things to my truck. He does his route so different then I do, but I just have to let him do it. He loves to mingle and talk, and I like to get in and get out. It's all good, time with with my Daddy is Never a bad day! Have a great weekend y'all. Moxy

That sounds like such a lovely place for your Mother. I do so hope she gets the room there. I have some big news but I guess I had better e-mail you. I don't have permission to tell anyone else yet.

Thank you, C. Wombat is a tough little critter but this has been an extreme trial for her.

Well I didn't mean she was going to be dancing in the streets any time soon. I know what she has ahead but as many of my patients told me, the dreading is worse than anything that follows. She has that behind her and can get done to the "fun" part now which is getting well again.
