Happy Sunday Blue! Good to see you sharing your garden here with everyone. I thoroughly love to read all about your beautiful babies, and some day, I will have all kinds of special flowers. One year, I researched at the library, and had the front garden ALL white roses, they were so beautiful, and so fragrant. I loved reading about the different special kinds, I kept them up for several years until my divorce. I had one that turned RED, it was weird, like it's little heart was broken,.. and it got full of weeds when I was gone. Kind of like life sometimes huh. But,..it's a goregous day, and I will sit on the deck for a bit of sunshine. Jasper is digging in the dirt, he has mud on the end of his nose. He is such a cutie! He DOES love his moma. Have a great day y'all. Looking forward to a BBQ Pork Rib, mac n cheese, sweet BBQ beans, and coleslaw, buscuits, for supper.. and cold raspberry tea. Hope y'all check back in on Blue's garden works. Hope you are comfortable Wombat,.. wish we could take care of you here,.. we sure adore you! Much Love, Moxy~

Just a flying visit....I have to be at the hospital at 6.30am tomorrow. How much do you wanna bet I don't get 'done' till the end of the day?

I'm in reasonably good spirits...still on a high from Blue's phonecall. And I will be carrying all of your best wishes with me...is that why my suitcase is so heavy?

Blue...I would love to have a lily named for me...how about
    'Waltzing Matilda'?

The members of the KC are very important to me, as are quite a few of the other posters....so I will be back.

Cmom and Blue....the Four Musketeers will ride together again, mark my words!

Love to you all...will write when I get home...which I am really hoping will be in 4-5 days XXXXXXXXXXXX

Our Hearts are with you, Dear Girl. I hope we hear more from you very soon. I will choose a baby to name "Waltzing Matilda" & describe it to you.
If my call helped even a little, I am so glad.
    Best of luck to you.

Good to hear from you Mary. The bbq ribs, beans, & slaw sound wonderful. One of my favorite meals. Was it a party?

Now I had to have bbq & beans for lunch but I am sure they could not hold a candle to your feast, Mary. Power of suggestion. A friend posted on Face Book that we think too much, that we would be more efficient if we controlled our thoughts. Ha! My mind skitters around like a dragonfly (or a bug on a hot griddle) all the time. And inefficient as it may be, I would feel life was very dull if it did not do that. (Plus I probably have some degree of ADD).
I had blueberries for dessert. They were from NJ, not NC. That must mean the NC season is already over & I missed it. But they were good, esp slathered with whipped cream.
Did you know one oyster can filter 30 gallons of water per day? That's extracting the algae to eat, depositing the sand somewhere, and spitting out clear water. Imagine what a few million of them could do. My aunt, who would have been 105 by now, said the water in the river was mostly clear when she was a girl. It had been mostly murky for most of my life but if we had millions of oysters working merrily away, think what they could do. The govt should give someone a grant to get oysters replenished in New River. It's the least they could do-a lot of the pollution comes from the Marine Base, which was taken from my family & friends for a pittance in the 1930's. Not only are Onslow County oysters so much more delicious than those fat Gulf oysters that we sometimes have to settle for, but you have to wonder what they were eating to get so fat in the first place. Hmn.
Our oysters are sometimes lean but oh my the flavor! Those V brought me from Beaufort had an herbal taste.
I just got home & was ravenous b/c I had fasting labs this morning but I dashed thru the garden & it is gorgeous again today but it is too hot. It makes the daylilies open 6 or 10 blooms at a time & it is over too fast. Each one only lasts a day, as you all know. The beans came up so fast & are sturdy enough not to snap when Sasha lies down on them but I don't see a sign of the daylily seed or the other little seed i co-planted with them. I think I need to put out some fresher ones. The seed I thought were going to be blue bonnets now look like melon seed tht snuck into the row from the compost. lol. I need to pull them up. They will turn the garden into an impenetrable jungle. All the tomatoes will ripen & be gnawed on before I even know they are there.

I think today will be mostly tests & "tomorrow" will be the surgery. She is somewhere between 13 & 18 hours ahead of us. I called her at 10 pm. EST & she said it was noon there. I trust she was not just humoring me. I doubt we will hear anything until she is home from the hospital & maybe not for a while then. I am not sure if they are taking her whole lung. I could never get her to say but you know she is going to be in rough shape for a while b/c they will almost certainly have to crack ribs. Let's all just pray & send good vibes to her. She lives near Sydney and her name is Carmel (in case God needs some i.d.).
I am sorry I did not bring anything today but we have tea packets of dozens of kinds in the cupboard & the frig is always full of snacks. I had fasting labs this morning & did not want to wait too long to get some insulin & food on board. It usually messes up my blood sugar for a couple of days when I have to fast. I make almost no insulin of my own so the blood glucose just keeps rising & there is no insulin to take it away (or give me fuel to operate on). If I could know for sure what was going to happen, I could take just enough insulin to utilize the sugar already circulating but my body is unpredictable. One temper tantrum (lol) and the bottom would fall out & I would not be able to safely drive. I hate this disease so much and I have had it for nearly 25 years & been taking insulin shots for almost the whole time. I suppose there are much worse ones but diabetes is definitely in the running.
Have a good evening. Is anyone going to watch another evening of the Bachelorette? They sure do round up a bunch of unattractive men, esp. for a gorgeous woman like Emily but I guess it is not that easy to get men to expose their private lives and risk humiliation on a reality show. It seems to be much easier to get attractive women to sign up but it looks like they deliberately pick a few stone crazy ones now (for the entertainment value no doubt) and the script always calls for at least one of the girls or men to carry the torch for getting rid of the one "that is not here for the right reasons". What reason could possibly BE right?
If none of you are going to watch, I can find some relatives & inlaws who will-& keep up a running commentary. Next to car racing (one of the inlaws has 3 sons who race & win at Wilmot), it is a favorite thing. Survivor too. I am more into it, having been a survivalist type in my youth.

Oh, it's no big deal, Habby. I whine but I am used to it. I have a set of labs for the diabetes every 3 months . Then I have a set every 6 months for my oncologist for my blood components & immune system & cancer markers. Despite the various medical problems I have, I do fairly well. I have had diabetes for nearly 25 years and hypertension since my mid-20's. Both run in my family but I have managed them well enough not to have any serious complications yet. My aunt's daughters both WERE string beans & played tennis but one of them died in her 30's of a brain tumor & the other of a brain aneurysm in her 50's. So, you never know. You play the cards you are dealt.

Good morning. With the time difference, Carmel should have had her surgery by now. Chances are, she is in Intensive Care. I hope and pray that she is doing well and resting comfortably.
