BIOGRAPHY
Ted Shackelford was born in Oklahoma City, OK, the son of Paul Olden (a physician) and Mary Jane Shackelford. He was raised in Tulsa, where his father was stationed with the military. Ted attended the University of Denver.
Ted is best known for his role as Gary Ewing on "Dallas". Strangely he got his start in that role by filling in for Dan Akroyd! He also appeared in "Knots Landing" alongside "Dallas" co-star Joan Van Ark, with whom he had also worked with in "Wonder Woman"! Before joining The Young and the Restless as William Bardwell (Jeffrey's twin brother), he had done guest stints on many primetime series, including last year on "Dirty Sexy Money" as Dr. Delafield.
Interesting to note: Ted smokes a pipe and was even profiled in the Winter 2004 edition of Pipes and Tobacco Magazine! He also appears on the cover of a Warren Zevon album - "The Envoy"!
In 1976 he married Janis M. Leverenz, but they divorced in 1986. In 1991 he married his current wife, Annette Wolfe.
