"The Vampire Diaries" alum Kayla Ewell (ex-Vicki) is back in some vaguely familiar territory. The last time we saw her in Mystic Falls, she was a ghost trying to come back from the dead. Now it looks like she might wind up as another supernatural creature, a zombie. She just completed shooting a lead role in "The Demented." The horror film follows six friends out for a weekend in the country when a nearby town gets hit by a terrorist attack resulting in a zombie outbreak.
The film co-stars Sarah Butler ("I Spit On Your Grave"), Michael Welch ("The Twilight Saga: Eclipse"), Brittney Alger ("21 Jump Street") and Richard Kohnke ("Mighty Fine"). Filming just completed in Louisiana and a distribution deal has been made. Fans can expect to see the film released in 2013.
