The Vampire Diaries Spoilers For The Ties That Bind. Thursday, December 29 2011

On January 19...

It turns out that being a hybrid isn't all it's cracked up to be. Tyler is tired of being one of Klaus' minions and decides that it's time for him to get his free will back. He won't be able to do that alone, however, and manages to find an unlikely person to help him.

Klaus is probably too distracted to notice that Tyler is slipping out of his grip. He's still ensnared in a bitter fight with Stefan over control of his family's coffins and the bodies therein. Meanwhile, Alaric continues to get down to work with his new friend, the mysterious Dr. Fell. This arouses Damon's curiosity.

Bonnie obsesses over Klaus' coffins. She's been having dreams about them and suspects that these could hold a valuable clue about how to kill off the undead original. The dreams have another unexpected result: they lead her to find her mother, Abby. Bonnie is reunited with her after fifteen long years apart. Abby has been living out in the middle of nowhere in a little farmhouse with a young man. When Bonnie shows up, her reclusive mother has some explaining to do.
