When The Vampire Diaries comes back from its long hiatus next week, a few more characters will quickly begin cropping up on the canvas.
While we still have to wait on who will be coming in as Klaus, the cast will be getting an old member back in the coming weeks. David Anders is returning for the February 3 episode, "Daddy Issues." Anders will be resuming the role of Jonathan Gilbert, the wildly unpopular uncle of Elena (Nina Dobrev) whose arrival causes problems for Jenna (Sara Canning) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder). His appearance will leave lingering difficulties for everyone. Anders was last glimpsed in the season opener, "The Return." He was forced to leave Mystic Falls at the end of last season after a rather grim fight with Stefan.
