Fifty Shades Of Grayson. (Bob Mahoney/The CW)

Comic-Con 2013 Scoop from Executive Producer, Julie Plec, and the cast!

Paul Wesley will be pulling double duty in season five as Stefan (in a box) and as the true form of Silas. Plec explained there will be "a pretty cool mythology that will carry on in terms of Silas, and the mystery of his past, 1000 or 2000 years ago."

She talks about Hayley, who "is, by no means, the Cinderella in the Klaus love story. Hayley is a girl who’s pretty tough, fiery, independent, a survivor in her own right who got drunk, had sex and got knocked up. She’s going to have her own journey. She’s not really meant to be a threat to Klaus’ love life."

What about human Katherine? Plec teased that the first time she catches a cold she'll be pissed.

Another of Stefan's ex-girlfriends, "Tessa," shows up as a recurring character. She doesn't have fond memories of the Salvatore brothers and has been looking for them for centuries.

Tessa's a nobleman's daughter, according to SpoilerTV.

Silas isn’t going to be the only threat on the show in season five or the biggest threat, according to executive producer Julie Plec.

Julie Plec shared that it’s been a fun summer for Elena and Damon. And since Elena’s going to college they’re going to try to make the long-distance thing work. Things won't be easy since there is a "new villain in their midst they don't know is a villain at the beginning." Plec goes on to say the goal was to make Elena and Damon "happy" in season five.

From Entertainment Weekly, Julie Plec says Elena and Damon will face conflicts "in which one is keeping a secret from another trying not to hurt their feelings, trying to make them happy, little things that any normal couple would fight about and then hopefully make up over." She adds, "The biggest hurdles in their relationship come from external sources, people, ideas, notions that are trying to say they’re not supposed to be together. It’s really going to be more about them fighting to prove that they should be together and it’s okay."

Jeremy's resurrection will be addressed immediately.

Jeremy will be living with Damon.

Kat Graham (Bonnie) told fans to expect a lot of scenes between Bonnie and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen). No surprise since she's the only one who can see him. Kat didn't say when her big secret will come out.

Russian actress, Olga Fonda, is joining the cast as the fearless, worldly yet revenge seeker, Nadia. She'll be introduced in the October 10 episode.

Jesse, Kendrick Sampson, ("Greek,") will play a Whitemore University upperclassman who takes an interest in Caroline, yet he disdains vampires in general for a reason personal in nature.
