Season five.

In case there was the slightest hint of doubt in your mind, you can now rest easy that "The Vampire Diaries" will be back for a fifth season. The CW announced that it will continue airing for the 2013-2014 season. "VD" isn't the only series with a confirmed return. Both "Supernatural" and "Arrow" will also be back.

"Not only do 'Arrow,' 'Supernatural,' and 'The Vampire Diaries' perform well on-air, they’re also extremely successful for us both digitally and socially. I'm thrilled to have all three shows returning to our schedule next season," said Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW. "VD" remains the highest rated program on the network.
