Biography

Vanessa Williams portrays Wilhelmina Slater (the clever and experienced Creative Director) on the ABC television drama series Ugly Betty. Williams is probably most famous for her music career, however she does have credits in movies and TV shows as well. All of this is in addition to winning the crown of Miss America in 1984 (but was later revoked due to photos without her permission being published in an adult magazine). Some of her most popular songs include Love Is, Colors of the Wind and the smash hit Save the Best for Last. Her musical abilities have earned her numerous Grammy Nominations.

Throughout her acting career, she has had guest roles in several TV television shows including The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Star Trek: Deep Space, Ally McBeal and the classic The Love Boat. Her movie credits Erasure and Soul Food.
