At the Club, Nick tells Avery by phone that he won't call off the security guards. Wheeler arrives. Nick asks him about the case and why someone would want Avery dead. Wheeler thinks people trying to keep her client in prison are behind it.
At Jabot, Leslie tells Tyler about someone tampering with Avery's brakes. They talk about the dangers of their situation. Leslie says Neil will try to protect her, and she can't have him getting hurt because of their past. Tyler wishes Avery had backed off.
At Crimson Lights, Mason tells Sarge he's not working at Newman anymore. He explains what Victor asked him to do and how Adam found out. Sarge is glad Mason stuck to his principles, but Mason says if he had it to do over, he'd do whatever Victor asked! Sarge is stunned. Mason says it's how the real world works - he doesn't want to end up in a rut like...him. Insulted, Sarge leaves.
At the Chancellor Estate, Esther asks Katherine if she wants her to look after 'the gift'. Katherine clearly has forgotten what gift. Adriana spots Victor and Nikki's wedding invitation and covers for Katherine. They discuss ideas and Esther leaves the room. Katherine complains to Adriana about Esther hovering like she's a senile old woman. Adriana gently says they should find out about her memory issue. She talks about her Abuela being way too stubborn. She urges Katherine to see a doctor before it's too late. Later, Katherine looks at a brochure on Alzheimer's.
Dylan arrives at Sharon's place. She thanks him for finding Faith. He says he did what anyone would have done. Sharon says he's good with kids. He tells her about giving kids in Afghanistan candy and playing ball to change their perception of the troops. He talks about getting injured - a local family with a daughter Faith's age took him in. He gets a call that his dad's worse. Sharon encourages him to go.
In Jack's office, he and Kyle convince Neil to take on Summer as an intern. Kyle joins Phyllis and Summer in the hall and tells Summer she got the internship. She's thrilled they'll be working together. Neil corrects her - she'll be in the other building with him. Summer isn't interested - she wants to work with the man in charge. Jack beams. "Clearly this girl knows what she wants." Later, Phyllis discusses Summer's 'moxie' with Kyle. He assures her they're just friends. In Jack's office, Summer asks Jack what he and Kyle like to do. He mentions racquetball and chess. Summer exits and catches the end of Phyllis and Kyle's conversation about her. Sarge arrives and tells Jack about Mason and Victor. Jacks says at least he didn't sell his soul to the devil. Sarge says Mason now thinks he should have done it. Jack offers to talk to Mason. Phyllis and Jack leave for dinner and Summer tells Kyle it's nice to see them falling in love. Kyle puts her to work and leaves. She fantasizes him coming back and kissing her.
Leslie talks to Nick at the Club. He asks if Avery ever talked to her about this Gus Rogan case. Leslie pretends it was just lawyer talk. She urges Nick to get Avery off the case - it may not end well.
Tyler tells Neil, in his office, that Leslie will just tell him whatever she wants him to know. He advises him not to push her - she's reinvented herself before and will do it again.
Nick drops by Sharon's place to say that Faith is handling her scare in the woods fine. She credits Dylan. Nick's irritated. She wonders if he's worried about Avery and taking it out on Dylan. She says he's not a bad guy - he's just trying to find his way in life.
Dylan enters his dad's bedroom. The necklace he gave Avery is on the nightstand. His dad wakes up and tries to joke. Dylan says he's taking him to Genoa City.
At the Club, Phyllis gets called away for work and leaves Jack alone to order. He asks for two Chardonnays. Nearby, Neil and Leslie are about to have dinner but decide to go to his place. She eyeballs Wheeler as they leave. Tyler arrives. Phyllis returns and asks Jack what he's doing with wine.

Adam carries Sharon's bags into his house. "You're still not sure about this?" She smiles. "You and I, alone, together?"
A shirtless Carmine tells Lauren, "What happened last night is strictly between us."
Sitting at the piano, Nikki says to Victor, "I wonder how much longer before I can't play at all."
