Trading up men.

In this week's "The Young And The Restless" Throwback Thursday Soaps.com takes readers back to 1982 when Jill Foster decided a life with Andy Richards wasn't exactly what she wanted…

Jill recently got caught up in an unexpected turn of events when she was kidnapped and handcuffed to a bed. Years ago, Jill's (then played by Deborah Adair) future took a turn as well when Andy didn't prove to be the man for her. After dating Nikki Reed, Andy, who was a gym teacher in Genoa City, became involved with Jill. Neither had much money but had different outlooks on life and the future. Though Andy had never tried to be someone he wasn't, proving so by giving Jill a pen for Christmas, she had a knack for spending and bought him a cashmere sweater, one she couldn't afford.

Andy loved Jill and proposed marriage. She agreed to marry him but urged Andy to find a better paying job. He had an idea as to how they could save money, but Jill had been horrified to imagine doing what Andy had suggested. In the end, Andy noticed Jill's attraction to John Abbott and walked away from the relationship, knowing he could never give Jill what she clearly wanted, luxuries that a man like John could provide.
