"The Young And The Restless" actress Christel Khalil (Lily Winters Ashby) is currently dealing with a legal issue. According to Law360 Khalil was in California court on Tuesday and sued Mavrick Artists Agency Inc. Represented by Robert N. Pafundi of the Pafundi Law Firm, the suit claims Mavrick Artists Agency Inc. would not allow the actress to terminate her contract in April 2013 after money was withheld and violations were made. More specific allegations include unlawful conversions of earnings, co-mingled funds, non-compliance with the Talent Agencies Act and others.
Khalil allegedly was sent only two auditions during the 2012 - 2013 pilot season for series regular roles. The agency failed to book her for commercial auditions and didn't pay her for time worked as a guest star on CBS' "Two Broke Girls." Khalil also faced embarrassment after the agency allegedly submitted her for the role of Lily after already having had a contract role with "The Young And The Restless" for the last ten years.
The case is officially labeled Khalil v. Mavrick Artist Agency, Inc., case No. BC517376 (Superior Court of the State of California for the County of Los Angeles) and Khalil is looking to receive damages and reimbursement from the date of the contract with Mavrick to present for funds paid to the agency.
