Phyllis has to say goodbye to Daniel.

In "The Young And The Restless" history, 1990s, Phyllis Summers lost custody of her son, Daniel Romalotti, to Danny Romalotti…

Daniel just arrived back in Genoa City, and soon Phyllis will be forced to say goodbye to her son once again - just like she did years ago… Phyllis met Danny during her time in New York. In fact, she was an obsessed fan who stalked the rock star on numerous occasions. When the opportunity came, Phyllis drugged Danny straight into her bed and later claimed that she was pregnant with his child. This one act led to years of animosity between Phyllis and Christine Blair, who had been married to Danny at the time.

Danny divorced Christine and, wanting to do right by his son, married Phyllis. However, the marriage didn't last long and Danny soon caught on to Phyllis' manipulative ways. It wasn't until Danny and Phyllis pulled together over Daniel's bacterial meningitis scare when Danny saw a more loving side to Phyllis. The couple bonded further over their son and soon remarried. Again, secrets and manipulation outweighed their love, and Danny was furious to find out that another man, Brian Hamilton, had fathered Daniel.

Danny set out to not only divorce Phyllis again but planned, with Christine as his lawyer, to take Daniel away from her as well. And it worked… After a nasty divorce and custody battle, Danny was granted sole custody of Daniel. Danny managed to make Phyllis see that any interaction from her in Daniel's life wouldn't be beneficial to their son and soon left Genoa City with the boy he'd grown to love as his own.
