Restless Rant
Week of August 13 – 17:

Sprung.
Thank goodness they finally talked some sense into Paul and got the man out on bail! Lauren didn’t even have to ‘fess up about the gun. Seems like Avery got Paul’s case firmly in hand within hours – made Christine look bad.

It's a long road to nowhere.
It doesn’t get much more ridiculous than newlywed Nikki packing up a bag and ditching her new hubby to search for Victor when she doesn’t even have a clue where to look! Unfortunately for Jack, she's got a one track mind - I doubt even Katherine could have stopped her. Read Soaps.com's interview with Jeanne Cooper.

Played again.
Anyone else feeling ‘mystery-fatigue’ when it comes to Cane's family? How many secrets and family cover-ups can they have in one lifetime? There’s been one drama after another originating from Down Under and it’s been a bit like work to get interested in this latest one. Genevieve and her problems aren’t any better. Lily, however, has had a playful, almost mischievous air about her at times in recent months, which could be intriguing if developed in the right storyline. Ready for something different with this clan.

Addressing the undressing.
So Yolanda/Harmony finally addressed that awful time when she dropped her robe and came onto Neil way back when. Thank you. It's important to acknowledge the history of the characters.

Restless Style TV.
The quirky vibe surrounding Restless Style’s new tabloid TV show and its staff members has a certain appeal. It’s a contemporary storyline, provides plenty of opportunity for catty run-ins between Abby and Chloe, and Billy is perfection as the tabloid boss with a heart. It’s preferable to following the goings-on at the other new venture in town, Tag ‘n’ Grab, which basically amounts to Kevin whining about/at Adam.

What Mama don’t know…
Go Daniel! I kind of like him and Heather sneaking around.

Badass.
Ol' Vic may have appeared to be nothing more than an aging disoriented drifter with a nice watch, but he showed those younger, brawnier dock workers a thing or two, and proved he’s still 'as good once as he ever was' when it comes to barroom brawling. He even won the jaded barkeep's grudging admiration. Yep. Anyway...who thinks Victor’s himself, and who thinks he has amnesia?

Seeing red.
Phyllis’s tension-o-meter went way up this week as a result of Avery walking as her lawyer. She snapped on most members of her family before the hiring of Leslie and a job offer from Kevin brought the stress levels down a few notches. She was then able to focus nicely on devising a decent diabolical plan to deal with Tim. Too bad for her it backfired a little, but not too bad for viewers. Phyllis hollering at dead-as-a-doornail Tim that he was not dead, and informing his lifeless body that he was not dying in her apartment, was pure gold. Definitely in the running for favorite scene of the week. The icing on the cake was Kevin knocking on the door at just the right moment to get himself dragged into something that could turn his life upside-down. Just his luck!

Like a woman possessed!
The changes in Sharon and the twists in her story just keep coming, and this week, she went from wide-eyed and startled while burning the pre-nup, to playing wide-eyed and innocent when denying it, to positively wild-eyed in the boardroom! Yes, folks, by week’s end, Sharon, schooled by Tucker, who may have unknowingly unleashed a well-manicured monster on the unsuspecting corporate world, strode into the board meeting and not only made a bold power-play, but seemed to be channeling Victor himself! When she chillingly intoned, "I am Victor Newman," she spoke in a lower register, she was appropriately menacing and arrogant - she seemed mere moments from an Exorcist-style head spin! I can’t imagine what she’ll do next, what one-liner this will inspire from Adam, or what The Mustache will make of Victor/Sharon when he returns. What do you think of Sharon’s bold boardroom moves? Let us know by voting in Soaps.com’s Y&R Boardroom Moves poll.

One of Sharon's kids is being recast. Get the scoop through Exit interview with Kevin Schmidt.
