When Fred Segal hosted a star-studded affair for Luzern Cosmetics last week, there were more than a few names from The Young and the Restless in attendance. Among the celebrities indulging in champagne and chocolate desserts were Y&R's Christel Khalil (Lily Winters), Vail Bloom (Heather Stevens), Tracey Bregman (Lauren Fenmore Baldwin), Sharon Case (Sharon Newman Abbott), and Kate Linder (Esther Valentine).

The lovely ladies of The Young and the Restless were there to get a glimpse at Luzern's innovative new approach to skin care, which involves the use of a hydrating cream base, along with serums formulated to treat different skin care issues. The concept is that rather than purchasing numerous different skin care products, the customer only needs to buy the cream base, and then add a couple of drops of the necessary serum to address their particular need.

According to press, Luzern is an all-organic luxury brand which uses the finest “Bio-Swiss certified organic botanicals, medical-grade nutrients, and ultra-hydrating Alpine water” in their anti-aging product. Luzern Laboratories was founded in 1996 and is based in the east coast. It is an all-American brand, using products grown in the United States.

All of the Y&R attendees would have had the opportunity to try the creams and serums at the event. Another selling point for Luzern is their stated commitment to the environment. Their products are paraben and formaldehyde free, hypo-allergic, non-comedogenic and are not tested on animals. The company is also reportedly designing new packaging which will be made from recycled cardboard and printed with soy-based, non-toxic inks. Luzern products can be found in high-end department stores.
