Y&R Cast 2008 (Robert Voets, CBS)

Soaps.com has learned that tomorrow, February 29th, 2008, The Young and the Restless is set to mark a stunning accomplishment - 1000 consecutive weeks in the top slot of daytime television ratings!

This is a remarkable milestone, and a testament to the power of Y&R's devoted audience, who have kept their favorite show at #1 in spite of the recent writer's strike, and the newest development, a change in Executive Producer/Head Writer, from Lynn Marie Latham to Josh Griffith (with Maria Arena Bell named as co-Head Writer).

Kudos for The Young and the Restless doesn't stop there! Being the only daytime soap to be honored with 100 Daytime Emmys, along with 334 nominations, the show still continues to bring its viewers fresh storylines, including some of the most popular topics of real life issues of today!

Current storylines involving Y&R's veteran actors have the fans tuning in consistently, such as Victor's (Eric Braeden) reunion with his namesake son by Hope Wilson (Signy Coleman) and Hope's untimely death, Victor's split with Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), and the declining health of Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper). The fabulous acting and comedy of Judith Chapman, as the love-to-hate-her, Gloria Bardwell, and Ted Shackleford in the role of a lifetime as conniving Jeffrey Bardwell. Not to mention the strong performances and excellent storylines of favorites such as Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), Sharon (Sharon Case), Jack (Peter Bergman), Nick (Joshua Morrow), Lily (Christel Khalil), and Kevin (Greg Rikaart). The newest additions to the cast, Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe), Chris Engen (Adam Wilson), and Raya Meddine (Sabrina), will only make the show stronger!

Soaps.com would like to congratulate everyone at Y&R as well as the fans, including Soaps.com readers, who help keep the show on top!
