’s Soap Opera Year In Review image

Soaps In Depth 2013.

We loved, we lost, we screamed at our television screens. 2013 was certainly one for the books for soap opera fans, as we saw the return of "All My Children" and "One Life To Live," only to have them taken away from us all over again. We lost beloved soap veteran Jeanne Cooper ("Y&R's" ex-Katherine Chancellor) in real life, and got to celebrate her character's incredible contribution to the show in Genoa City with her on-screen loved ones. Mob wars, the Nurses' Ball, a parade of veterans, and vampires all returned to Port Charles on "General Hospital." A few new love triangles appeared on "B&B," and the added characters brought a fresh vigor to the show - including a recast Ridge with fan favorite Thorsten Kaye (ex-Zach, "All My Children"). And while we are still wondering where Bo is on "Days of our Lives," we at least got to watch a sex tape in church in Salem.
