Daytime casting notes.

Casting news for July included some interesting personalities popping up, as well as some stars talking about their exits. Get the details below:

All My Children:
Jason Derulo appeared on "AMC" on July 3 to perform his hit, "The Other Side." Also in July, came the news that a CNN personality would portray an investigative reporter on the show in mid-August. Find out who will be playing Spencer Phillips through All My Children Comings & Goings.

The Bold And The Beautiful:
Mexican actor, Andres Zuno, got bumped up to recurring status as Rafael as of July 11. "B&B" viewers saw Rena Sofer debut as Quinn Fuller this month, and enjoyed seeing both Crystal Chappell and Joanna Johnson reprise their roles of Danielle and Karen Spencer. Another interesting tidbit; Lee Phillip Bell (co-creator) appeared in the background of a restaurant scene this month! The show put out a casting call for the role of 'Harper', a Caucasian male, 5'11" or taller, in his mid-forties who is a handsome upscale businessman, and news broke that a "Big Brother" alum will appear as a production assistant on August 26. Days of our Lives:
Kristian Alfonso renewed her contract as Hope in July. Additionally, "DOOL" put out a detailed casting call seeking an established Primetime or Daytime actor of any ethnicity for the contract role of 'Seth', a 45-55 year-old male. The role will begin shooting in mid-August. 'Seth' is described as a very good-looking man with tons of charm. He is witty, but can also be opinionated, and his confidence can be misconstrued as arrogance. He is super-protective of his young son, and there is a mystery surrounding their backstory. He has the potential to reveal a dark side if he feels threatened. Viewers saw Tyler Fuller appear as Sonny's friend, Brent, in July, and Eva Swan won a one-day role as an Eileen Davidson (Kristen) lookalike who will appear during November Sweeps. Also this month, Jen Lilley debuted as Theresa Donovan, and Peter Reckell and Casey Deidrick each spoke out about their reasons for exiting the show. General Hospital:
"GH" put out a casting call for an African American female in the 25–27 year age range to play the role of a woman who can change the dynamics of a room just by entering it. She will begin taping in September. Also in July, William deVry debuted as Derek Wells, and a well-known celebrity personality announced that he will return to the show once again. One Life To Live:

The Young And The Restless:
Ted Shackelford popped back in as Jeffrey in July, as did Camryn Grimes, who's been appearing as Cassie Newman's grown up ghost. Leslie Stevens debuted as Rose on July 25 and Michael Graziadei returned as Daniel Romalotti on July 30. Additionally this month, viewers learned that Katherine Chancellor's memorial will air in early September. The show is casting a part related to this event.
