Since Americans aren't the only ones with good soapy drama, Soaps.com has listened to our readers from across the pond who have requested we keep tabs on a few British and Australian soap operas. Take a look at what's going on with dramas from other parts of the world.
EastEnders: Even though he made a brief return to "EastEnders" as Ricky Butcher in June, Sid Owen announced he has retired from acting and will never live in the UK again. He seems to prefer his life in France running his restaurant.
Spoiler alert: A homeless Ian has been aimlessly roaming around lately and next month his fellow Albert Square denizens discover him. Max, Tanya and Alfie find him sleeping on the street and try to help. It can't be too long before Ian's daughter Lucy learns the truth as well.
Coronation Street: Spoiler alert: Not only has Ryan returned to Weatherfield a womanizing drinker, but apparently he also has a fondness for cocaine. When Michelle catches him, she calls him out in front of everyone in the pub. It remains to be seen if this helps or hurts him, but word is he will start dating an older woman.
This week, Stella finally discovers that Karl is cheating on her with Sunita, as do her daughters. Even though she's apparently forgiven him for his indiscretions in the past, this time might be different.
Emmerdale: Not only will the British soap air a live episode in October, but "Emmerdale Uncovered: Live" will air immediately after the program. During the companion show, fans will see the reaction of stars as they exit their scenes and hear thoughts from the crew capturing the special event. Spoiler alert: Moira takes notice when farmer Alex shows up without his shirt on. Flirting of course ensues, but will it go any further?
Hollyoaks: Hollie-Jay Bowes is leaving the role of Michaela McQueen, who she has been playing since 2006. She reportedly is looking to experience things outside of "Hollyoaks."
Spoiler alert: Dr. Browning has Mercedes right where he wants her when he suggests they pretend to be in a relationship in order to rile up Riley. Since he helped clear her of suspicion in Lynsey's death, she doesn’t have much wiggle room. However, it looks like the fake relationship might be more real than they thought when the two end up in a lip lock. Neighbours: Dean Geyer joins the cast of Glee for season 4. He will play a potential love interest for Rachel (Lea Michele). Geyer played Ty Harper on the Australian soap from 2008 – 2009.
Spoiler alert: While Andrew tries to figure out how to make money on Tash's newfound math talents, in conjunction with Ed's programming skills, Tash takes part in Ed's hobby: action role-play. Although embarrassed at first by dressing up like a Viking, she gets into it and feels the competitive spirit.
Home and Away: Spoiler alert: Casey may be cozying up to his dastardly father Danny, but that's apparently all a ruse. The young river boy hopes to discover Danny's plans before he has the chance to carry them out. The next step is convincing his brother Brax it will work.
Watch the promo below of what's to come on "Home and Away," which includes a gun, a fight and a car crash. The video, which might not be available in all areas, also ominously ponders, who will make it and who won't?
