Soaps.com is sad to report that on July 17, 2008 soap opera veteran and Daytime Emmy Award winner Larry Haines has passed away. At almost 90 years old, Larry has left behind some of the most memorable characters and scenes in daytime today. He spent thirty-five years on Search For Tomorrow from 1951 to 1986 as Stu Bergman. Sharing a lot of his scenes with his onscreen soul mate, Jo (Mary Stuart), the characters were used in the show's final scene on December 26, 1986 searching for the show title implied.

Aside from his many TV and films credits, Larry also appeared in daytime on Another World as Sidney Sugarman and on Loving as Neil Warren.

Soaps.com wants to send our deepest condolences to Larry's family and friends. The heart and soul that he put into his characters will never be forgotten. For those who would like to make a donation in the actor's name, please feel free to direct them to the Screen Actors Guild Hollywood Headquarters at 5757 Wilshire Blvd. 7th Floor in Los Angeles, CA 90036-3600.
